Detailed Reviews
This hotel is okay, but it's not cheap and it's not like you're in Cairns or a capital city. There were lots of disgusting cigarette butts around the grounds of the hotel which is appalling and it stinks

I was sent by my company to a one week conference in Alice, I was able to stay at any hotel I wanted and I couldn't wait to get back to this cosy, sweet, clean and lovely motel. Steve and Karen are absolute stars and well wasted in this back water place, but they seem to love their work, and work they do, guest relations, concierge and keeping the marvelous peace with the lovely central water feature a great place to sit and congregate and have a relaxing drink.
The pool is great after a long day in a conference and handy to all the rooms. I love this place and I can't exactly say why, I think it really does come down to the warm, cosy and remarkable attention of the managers. THANKYOU guys for another great week.

I didnt know what to expect when my company sent me for a month to Alice Springs, but it was far better than I expected. Karen and Steve at the Airport Motel are a couple of the nicest, friendliest and most accomdating people you could meet. They asssited me with everything from getting about town to Tours to the famous Ayres Rock. Nothing was to much, and I never felt for a second that anything I asked was a burden. Housekeeping was superb, the rooms are kept very clean and are comfortable. The rooms have everything you would need, excellent airconditioning and a great pool, is a bonus on the hotter afternoons.
I can highly recommend this Motel if not only for the amenities but the great staff. Thankyou Karen and Steve for a wonderful stay.

Being the Airport Motel was expecting it to be a lot closer to the airport then it was, then again it wasn't as close as to town as I would've preferred either, the room was good sized, the service was ok not the best was not very impressed though.

We booked this motel expecting it to be near the airport but it was 6-8 kilometres from airport.
Additional amenities listed Airport shuttle, Local shuttle, Breakfast,Tour/ticket assistance non of
these were available. The motel was quite away from the main part of Alice and a taxi was 10 dollars each way.The rooms were quite big but in need of TLC curtains were hanging from rails
not enough hangers bathroom needed some work, all looking very tired.

Yes you do get one or one hundred bugs in your room but you are in Alice Springs not Sydney so all the reviews saying about the bugs if you don't like them don't come to Austrlia stay at home and as for the so called rat if have been to Alice ten times and I have never seen one. Like all other country's rats came in by boats and there's not a lot of them around Alice.
Staying here again in January 2012

Yes there might be one or two dugs about but they do live here, rooms are very big and down stairs the one we had you could park outside, aircon worked very well, you need a car to get into town to far to walk to the summer

The worst place I have ever stayed. For one thing, one of the beds was full of dead beetles. We lifted off the top cover and there where over a dozen dead beetles there. Yes, it is Australua and we have lots of bugs but a hotel should ensure they are not in the bed.
I always take my shoes off when walking inside and in doing so here I found out how filthy the floor was. It obviously hadn't been swept or mopped in a very long time. I had dirt and hair on the bottom of my feet just from walking to one end of the room to the other.
The tub was stained with black something all over it.
The only time someone was in the front office was when we checked in. The manager certainly wasn't keeping the office hours that where posted on the door. When we left there was a couple who had been waiting at reception for their scheduled ride to the airport which the manager arranged. They had been waiting for 20 minutes but the office was closed as usual and there was no sign of their ride so we gave them a lift to the airport.
I din'g understand the positive reviews. We must have had the worst room in the place and the dirtiest.

This is a great place to stay when you find yourself in Alice Springs. The facilities are first class. nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Karen and Steve looked after us so well that I have no hesitation recommending The Alice Springs Airport Motel to anyone considering a visit to the red centre.

This hotel is definitly one of the most horrible hotels we´ve ever been to during the last years. It´s absolutly ugly, the rooms are big, but so old and used that you think you´re back in 1940. I´ve never had such an uncomfortable location. It was disgusting to see the bed and the totally used bed sheets. I hated to sleep in it! Never again such an experience. Please don´t go to this hotel!

Response from sargentsteve1, Manager at Alice Springs Airport Motel
Responded 1 Apr 2011
We are sorry this is how you felt, but we do feel there may be some exageration here. This motel was only built in 1983 so if you think your back in the 1940’s you weren’t here. We didn’t realise Flat screen TV’s, split system airconditioners, microwaves, toasters, electric kettles & cable TV where around in the 40’s. We do pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our rooms and we would not permit a room to be in the condition you have described. Everyone please remember this is one person’s extravagant review, please read all the other reviews before making your mind up about this motel. For the information of future guests, we are currently updating our bathrooms with new shower heads, basins, hand taps & a new coat of paint.

"The motel is 2.5kms from the cbd and about a half hour walk so a car is recommended, or a taxi ride. The location should not detract from the level of hospitality experienced and the quality of our stay. Recommend a premium room on ground floor."Read full review
