Welcome to Alice's Secret Travellers Inn; a quiet green little oasis not far off the centre of Alice Springs. Being the smallest, we pride ourselves on our cleanliness and friendliness, and we are happy to give you that extra bit of attention you will miss in the bigger places. We offer air-conditioned accommodation in funky themed private and dormitory rooms. All include bed linen and access to shared bathroom facilities. This hostel is the perfect spot to get ready for your outback adventure (ask for specials) or to relax and recover after it. The beautiful, lovingly decorated garden is featured by an outdoor swimming pool, the fully equipped kitchen and free BBQ facilities give you the opportunity to cook and sit with fellow guests and the shared TV lounge and the book city are two comfy hideaways to chill, even on a rainy day. We love to keep it interesting! That’s why we’re always working on little projects to maintain and improve our little ‘home away from home’ for our guests!

Alice's Secret Travelers Inn is a very special hostel. Instead of limiting themself to just rooms and all the necessary facilities, they additionally have a great outdoor area (+ pool) to relax in the heat. Everything is wonderfully decorated and you really see the love that went into this place.
The rooms and facilities are all very tidy, you even get charging ports near your bed (which a lot of hostels miss), the staff are all very friendly and they have great tour/day-trip recommendations which help you experience Alice Springs the best way possible (they even got fairly good bicycles to rent for a cheap price compared to Australian standards) .

So yeah, 10/10 hostel. If your thinking about visiting Uluru or only Alice Springs itself (which is well worth a visit) I can only recommend staying at this place ^^

I stayed at Alice’s Secret a total of 6 nights before, during and after some out of town activities.

Seb, the owner/manager was fabulous! The customer service was faultless, and his willingness to go above and beyond, when while stretched to capacity was admirable.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and I really enjoyed the themes. The bathrooms and kitchen were kept clean, and everyone was friendly. I was able to store my luggage there while out doing other things, they also offer bike hire to expire the nearby area.

The atmosphere of the hostel is calm and relaxed, with a pool (kept very clean) and lots of seats, tables hammocks and day beds to lay around on. The hostel was quiet as the name suggests. I’ll definitely stay here again if I return to Alice Springs.

This hostel, which has a lot of character, is worth staying at whilst in Alice Springs.

The team afforded me a warm welcome and were able to advise me about local queries.

Dorms and private rooms were available. My private room, equipped with a/c was well-kept and allowed me to get a good night of sleep.

The shared bathroom facilities were clean.

The outside swimming pool area was the ideal place to cool down, as the whole area is usually warm!

Had the pleasure of spending many weeks here over the course of the Central Australian winter, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in anywhere in the world. Seb and Miriam who run Alice’s Secret are incredibly lovely and helpful; the atmosphere is welcoming, warm, and relaxed; the kitchen space is decked out with everything you need to make proper meals; the pool on those hot Alice days is a godsend; and it’s a super short walk to town. But the main thing as mentioned is simply the atmosphere there. I met some wonderful people during my stay and had many fantastic conversations, as this place tends to attract quality, interesting, and respectful people. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Thanks heaps Seb and Miriam!

Very lovely hostel, tbh, the vibe kinda feels like home. Owner is very welcoming, helpful and flexible with everything. The room is cozy, pillows are very nice and comfy, i ve been staying in a lot of hostels in australia this is by far the best hostel i ve ever stayed in, doesnt feel like commercialised at all. Kitchen is very well equipped, free seasoning such as chilli pepper salt etc. The hostel is very peaceful and quiet so if you’re a party type of person who wanna get drunk party music all day long, this is not for you, otherwise, i would recommend this hostel for 100%. The only downside? I cant book more nights here!!!!!

Lastly , I heard people complaining about seeing a mice. All i would say is if you’re so afraid of it, get yourself a 5 star hotel instead of a hostel, and australia, where wildlife is abundant, is probably not for you to visit!

Was at Alice's Secret for a very short stay but utterly fell in love. It's a very tranquil environment and the rooms and gardens are brimming with personality. The owners are also incredibly helpful with bookings and information. Highly recommend

Fantastic place to stay. Walking distance to local amenities. Most tours pickup/drop off from the hostel or the hotel a few metres around the corner.

The hostel were really helpful recommending and booking tours for me. I booked the Mulgas tour through them which was great fun.

The hostel was really friendly, plenty of people to talk to and eat meals with. As a solo traveller this is something that I really value at a hostel.

The garden was a lovely place to chill out - pool, hammocks, sun beds and benches.

I did find the push bikes a little expensive to hire - so I’d recommend planning a full day with them to get the best value for money.

We were impressed with the well organised and clean shared spaces in particular the way food in the kitchen was managed.
There was a happy friendly atmosphere with people sharing their experiences. We met some really interesting people with interesting stories to tell.
The eclectic garden made for a relaxing atmosphere.

Rooms very suitable and a beautiful garden. I was a female travelling alone and they made me feel safe and comfortable and made sure I knew where i was going/warned me of situations if I went out beyond a certain time, which is really caring.
Man behind the desk was very helpful as we went into Uluru for a few days, allowing us to keep our larger bags behind the desk and giving us helpful information.
Clean showers and kitchen and located in a very easy spot, not to far from Greyhound bus stop, town centre and helps organise taxi's for you.

Hi Marie, When I stayed in August 2015 the Wi-Fi was free. As with all shared Wi-Fi internet access the speed is dependent on who else is using it at the time you are but I didn't have a problem with Facebook access and general internet browsing. Best thing I can advise is to email them to confirm. All the good things you have read about this place are true including the friendly and helpful staff. Enjoy your stay. Regards Julian
