Nestled in a prime spot, the Adina Apartment Hotel Darwin Waterfront is a hit for its accessibility to the beach, CBD, and local attractions. The hotel's cleanliness and spacey rooms with scenic views have been praised by numerous guests.
However, opinions are divided when it comes to value and amenities; some visitors have found the dining satisfactory, while others feel the experience does not justify the price, noting dated rooms and inconsistent service. The atmosphere also receives mixed reviews, from welcoming to outdated, with some concerns over maintenance issues.

Great place to stay, but for an extended period is advised. Fully contained so you can cook and/or reheat your meals. Staff very friendly and helpful. Central to everything, and walking very easy. Cafes and pub excellent and within the confines and short walking distances of the Hotel.

We had 2 nights in a one bedroom water view apartment and one night in a ‘city view’ apartment. Both apartments were equal in size and layout and both were very quiet with good air-con.
The water view apt had a lovely view of the wave pool and the gardens with Stokes Hill a bit further away. The city view apt looked over the arrival portico of the hotel and the apartments across the road.
If you can book or upgrade to the water view, do it!
Our biggest gripe was the shower over the bath. I’m short, I can get in but not out. The quite heavy plastic orange balcony chair placed next to the glass shower screen made it possible.
Please change to walk in showers at the next revamp. The average age of guests suggests it would be a good investment!
Supermarkets are quite a distance in the heat (Coles is closer than Woolworths) but there is a good range of restaurants at the waterfront and they are very reasonably priced.
Room service was quick and the food was good.
Front desk staff were friendly and efficient but very busy. Almost always a queue.
Loved the indigenous employment pathways.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Good accommodation in Darwin isn't easy. The cost is actually quite high for a small city, and in our opinion the only area to stay in is the Waterfront precinct.
So we took a punt and booked one of the highest priced hotels thinking that it would be the best.
Let's just start with the low but because there were cool things.
The hair all over the bathroom and the massive Clanger of a pubic hair in the shower.
Now I'm of the generation where every single hair on my nanger has been lasered to within an inch of its life. And my other half is a natural born ginga who hadn't yet stepped foot in the hotel bathroom .. so this excessively long black curly was definitely a runaway from a previous crotch dweller.
It was 2am when we arrived and found these interlopers so we skipped a shower and called reception at 8am the next morning.
By midday the pube was still there and the floor still covered in hair.
All I wanted was a damn shower, but the risk of accidental hanging by a random pube was just too probable.
The hotel has a gym but no fan. It's freakin hot in Darwin so a spin fan up in the corner would be an asset.
High points.
The air con was great. And believe me - that's a bonus in Darwin.
The location was also excellent and right on the doorstep of some excellent little cafes.
Skip the hotel breakfast and head to Lime Cafe around the corner.
Also try the craft beer caravan outside .. awesome.
For location you just can't beat this spot. You won't need a rental car as there's always an Uber nearby, as well as E-bikes and E-scooters.
But check the bathroom before you use it ...

Dear madhatter015, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. There is no excuse for hair of any form in your bathroom, for this, please accept my sincere apology. I have met with our executive housekeeper and the team following your comments and needless to say, they too were extremely disappointed to hear of this. We take pride in our superior service and product and this time, clearly we have let ourselves down. Rest assured, not only has this been briefed with our teams, but corrective action has also been implemented. Thanks again madhatter015. Your comments enable us to better serve our guests and I sincerely appreciate you sharing this with us. Regards Sid Bhatia General Manager

Stayed for a three nights before heading off to Kakadu. Thought I'd booked at the Vibe Waterfront but they said it's really the same place and we had been upgraded to an apartment. The room was nice and fairly standard hotel stuff except for a kitchen sink and a few plates, cutlery etc. Reception was smooth and polite, there is a nice pool area. My wife went in and said it was very cold but refreshing. The buffet breakfast contained all of the usual hot offerings as well as fruit and sweet pastries. Our room was directly above the "Precinct" bar attached to the hotel and it was pretty loud and got louder the later it went. Didn't stop me from sleeping but you might want to ask for a room at the other end of the hotel if you're a light sleeper. One thing I liked was the guest laundry area. $4 per load of washing and the same for drying. Way better then the usual extortionate
in-house dry cleaning most places offer. The place is a little over priced in my opinion but that's not doubt because of the location on the waterfront. We would go and explore Darwin all day and then come back and have a 8 or 9 restaurants to choose from for dinner. It's a nice hotel in a great location.

Good, clean, well priced waterfront accommodation with food vouchers included in the package deal for use at a few of the waterfront precinct restaurants. The hotel's own Curve restaurant makes a decent breakfast and room service meals are really good value. Staff are incredibly helpful. Will totally come again.

Arrived here for a 3 night trip before heading off on the Ghan.
The location of this hotel is great - right on the waterfront. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.
But the hotel itself is drab and dated. Our room was particularly poorly kept.
The bathroom needed a major scrub. The floors needed a good mop (with a clean mop) as were visibly black. The shower was built up with mould in the silicone and mould on the ceiling. Our toilet seat didn’t sit straight.
The shower was dangerous to step in and out of as the non slip grip had worn off. This is particularly concerning with the elderly clientele that this hotel seems to have.
Our doona within the sheets was exposed with disgusting stains on it.
Cleanliness of this standard always has you questioning the things you cannot see.
Unsure why when the hotel didn’t appear busy that we were placed on the first floor. We had people from a conference walking up and down our corridor making phone calls right outside our door. At night time the room was extremely noisy from the pub/tavern downstairs. People laughing and drinking, along with very loud music.
People who had ordered room service, their food sat outside their rooms for over 24 hours waiting to be collected. Now this was disgusting. Fruit covered in flies, empty milk cartoon? Surely staff would be going up and down this corridor during the day and someone could have taken it away.
The standard of this hotel is certainly not what it pertains to be with signs everywhere about commitment to cleanliness.
The buffet breakfast, whilst a nice selection needs to be monitored more closely, and perhaps staff need to be on hand to assist with serving in a covid environment as buffets are bad enough pre covid. We witnessed multiple occasions where children were helping themselves, touching utensils & glasses unnecessarily.
I will be speaking to Journey Beyond who booked our travel. We were obviously relegated to the outdated rooms as part of a package deal booked.

Dear MissKirstsTravels, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am disappointed to hear of the issues in your room and the delays in collecting room service trays. I assure you, we do not allocate rooms based on Travel agents or packages, but allocate based on available rooms in same category as booked. I know June and July were extremely tough months for our teams as we battled through supply and team shortages, however that is no excuse for the letdowns! Please accept my apology for this. I am very pleased to know that our team looked after you well and I have since shared your feedback with our housekeeping manager. We are headed into a full refurbishment late next year, which looks very promising. Thanks again for your sharing your feedback with us. I hope to be able to welcome you back in future. Sincerely, Sid Bhatia General Manager

I booked into a studio room under the staycation package for my birthday.
The highlight of my stay was check in. The employee checking me in was amazing. He was informative and took his time to explain everything I needed to know about the package.
The room I was provided with was ok. Upon first entry, the main room is clean and tidy. The room was above the precinct, so I could hear all the music which was being played down below (especially the live music) which i did not appreciate.
The bathroom had an off smell, on the first night I noticed water on floor. In the morning, I realised that the water was dropping from a hole in the ceiling. Additionally, I noted that the "off smell" was actually reminiscent to sewerage.
I ordered room service from the hotel restaurant both nights. The serving sizes are generous, however the taste is wanting. The burger and Angus sandwich both had so much stuff, that they were almost tasteless.
The music, sewerage smell and food quality resulted in this below average experience.

Amazing place to stay - clean, comfortable, luxurious. Highly recommended! The location of the Adina on the Waterfront is second to none, highly recommend paying a little bit more to get an ocean view room.
Staff were professional and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as it should be.

My wife and I stayed at the Adina Waterfront Hotel for ten days in July 2021. The hotel is perfectly positioned on the waterfront. The rooms are spacious, spotless and highly functional particularly with features such as a clothes washer and drier. The staff are professional, friendly and 'bend over backwards' to make the stay comfortable. The hotel has great proximity to restaurants, Darwin's city centre and the waterfront which is now a wonderful asset to the Darwin precinct. Highly, highly recommended.

Adina is a great family or relaxed holiday hotel. The location is fab - on the waterfront with the fantastic (and cheap) public wave pool where for the grand total of $6 a day, kids will be entertained for 8 hours! nice staff, good location. Things a bit slow (towels etc) but like all hotels at the moment, post covid staffing issues are impacting, and they seem to be doing their best. The breakfast is ok. Perfect to wow the kids with the buffet - anyone who’s traveled a fair bit will know that it’s just average. Worth paying for a water view - those rooms are just lovely. Pool isn’t very big but lovely temperature in the Darwin heat and the deck chairs and incredibly comfortable! Would def recommend

Thanks for reaching out to us. We unfortunately cannot accommodate boats as we rent secure parking spaces from the car park next door. This is something they do not allow.

Yes, and for $2.00 you can purchase detergent from the front counter.
We did not have a balcony but I'm not sure if any do.
