The building must be over 100yrs old and never restored. Painting falling off the walls. The lift reminds of a horror movie. Not only ancient, but scary. Bathrooms are yucky. Vents above showers stuffed with mould and dust. Rooms are super small. I stayed in a single room. It was lterally just enough for a single bed to fit. It...

We stayed here for two nights in a private room. A bit over priced the room is very basic and small. No fan or A/c in the rooms. The kitchen was really hot with not enough fridge space. The showers were good and toilets were very clean. Discounted drinks and food in the bar downstairs is a bonus and directly...

Made the mistake of not reading about this place before booking. Staff were kind - when you could get their attention. The lift is kinda quaint and interesting for about five seconds before you realise how old and crap it is. Often doesn't operate at all. I was initially in a room with a window that wouldn't close that faced...

Myself and 5 friends stayed here for two nights as a part of our package deal for travelling. At first glance the building is obviously dated and has some history to it. An old building unfortunately equalled no air con. Each room has a singular standing fan which is as powerful as a hand fan. When checking in I advised...

Definitely more of a "party hostel" The bar downstairs stays open late and if you are on the first floor you can hear the music at night, but I wasn't too bothered by it. This also brings other guests stumbling around in the halls late at night. Nice Facilities, helpful staff, good place to meet travellers as everyone seems friendly...

Everything about this place is bad. The building is basically just a big sweatbox with practically no AC. The rooms are small and overcrowded. The staff appear to do their best, but it still took us about two hours from arrival and the start of the check-in, till we were at our rooms. The showers where either closed for maintenance...

No air-con or fan in single room. Too noisy and was an unpleasant experience.I will not recommend.Bathroom was OK. Staff were friendly, but i had to wait like 5mts to speak to him, that does not count to good customer service. The guy was training someone in middle of customer service.

All my clothes got stolen from my private room, also a phone charger which was later found in the cleaners trolley. Staff were friendly enough but were limited with help and I have not yet received contact from the manager which I was told I would. Stay somewhere else

Didn't really enjoy our stay here, the whole building is just a sweat box. We had one little fan, that made a hell of an amount of noise, in our 6 bed room, it did nothing to keep the room feeling in anyway fresh whatever about cool. Our group really struggled to catch any sleep & we all just ran...

Bin in the common areas. Without lockers in the share rooms. They have a storage for your bags but you must pay extra. The crew wasn't friendly and no much cooperative. Ok bathrooms. Must pay extra for dishes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nomads Brisbane has everything a backpacker could want, with our five floors offering a wide variety of rooms to appeal to everyone from the newly-arrived to the newly-wed, including dormitory and private rooms. All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! But that's not all. Our rooftop terrace is the place in the Brisbane CBD to catch some sun, chill out, have a BBQ or just watch the world go by while you wait for your laundry in one of our three laundry rooms. If the sun's not your thing then we also have common areas to kick back, relax, and get some quality tv time; that or cook up a feast in our guest kitchen! If you're looking for work, why not let our Job Club give you a nudge in the right direction? Likewise, our friendly travel desk staff don't just know everything about the beautiful South-East Queensland - they can give you advice about anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific! Downstairs the Down Under Bar is where you can go full on, flat out! Come on down to Brisbane's most famous backpacker bar where you can win great prizes, dance the night away, or even meet Mr/Mrs Right (or Mr/Mrs Right Now!). If you're after something a little quieter then our Zi Bar does great food and coffee, with regular functions to keep you entertained. Dormitories are available to genuine backpackers only. Guests MUST be over 18 years old to stay at Nomads Brisbane Hostel. ... more   less
