We stayed at the Emporium for our anniversary and whilst the reviews were excellent, it still exceeded our expectations. Our suite overlooked the river and the views were spectacular. The room was very well equipped, clean, comfortable and very quiet. We had our anniversary dinner at the Signature Restaurant and the food was excellent along with the staff. In fact from the time we drove in the valet parking guy was very friendly and professional and also the check-in desk. Loved the Terrace Roof Top bar and the massage at The Healing Stone was total bliss. High Tea at Belle Epoque is a must. Couldn't fault anything and will definitely be back.

Hotel's Favourite
We spent the first 4 nights of our 2-week trip to Qld at the Emporium. We needed 2 rooms so arranged a Premium River City King Suite for her and a Vista King Suite for me. Upon arrival, the reception was quite busy but the friendly and very efficient Gwendolyn took the time to ensure that we were not only on the same floor but also directly opposite each other. When she asked if we had plans for the night, I mentioned that we were headed for Lamberts restaurant and she said that she would arrange a taxi for us. In fact, all of the staff we dealt with were particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, with a massive choice of restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, takeaway shops and mini-marts close by. An Avis office (where we collected our hire car just before we checked out) is about 12 minutes' walk away. The ferry stop is about a 5-minute walk through very attractive tropical gardens and the free Kitty Cat ferry leaves from there on the half hour for Riverside (lots more restaurants) and the Howard Smith Wharves (breweries, restaurants and the Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel which we'd originally intended staying at but were glad we didn't once we saw it). Other public transport , including the City Cat ferry, requires pre-paid tickets or travel cards and these can be obtained from the Southbank train station which is almost nextdoor to the hotel (there's a booth at the top of the station escalator). A 2-hour round trip from Southbank to the last ferry stop downstream (Northshore Hamilton near the Gateway Bridge) is very pleasant and relaxing and we got off at Riverside to have lunch at La Vue restaurant. We were stunned that the ferry ticket was only $5 for the two of us. The Premier River view room has great views of the river and city from the 19th floor (room 1903). Sliding glass double doors open up to provide a nice breeze for the room but the traffic noise from the city can be distracting. The Terrace on the 21st floor where we had cocktails outside one night and breakfast inside two mornings (quiet and almost empty at 8am) has pretty much the exact same view. The Vista room (1906) is rather optimistically named depending on your definition of "vista" but, like the other room, it was beautifully decorated and the beds in both were particularly comfortable. The only real downside of the Vista room is that, even on the 19th floor, the noise from the trains was quite audible in the early mornings. It was a refreshing change to have a well-stocked mini-bar in each room. Possibly a little too refreshing considering that, with the constant temptation, we spent $296 over the 4 nights, including $48 for room service burgers one night. With big lunches at The Jetty and Mado Turkish over the next two days, we found that the excellent and very large takeaway lamb souvlakis from The Yiros Shop on the next block were a better option for a lightish dinner in-room at the hotel. Interesting cost and facilities comparison for our holiday accommodation: - through a discounted deal offered by Qantas (even though we fly with Virgin exclusively), the total cost for the two Emporium rooms (not including mini-bar and room service) averaged out at $682 per night for 4 nights. Our 4 cocktails were complimentary and breakfast ($35 per person) was included in our room rate. Parking is available but I think it's an extra. - the cost for our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom Ocean View apartment with kitchen and large living room plus dining table for 4 at Peppers Soul hotel at Surfers Paradise averaged out at $612 per night for 3 nights (1 car space included). - our 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2-storey penthouse apartment in the Reflections Tower 2 at Coolangatta with massive balcony and outdoor sitting area and dining table for 6, large kitchen, enormous living room and another dining table for 6, rooftop outdoor area with private plunge pool and dining/bbq area and the best views of the Gold Coast and hinterland we've ever seen ran to an average of $675 per night for 7 nights (3 car spaces included).

We booked last minute for a one night stay. We were on the 10th floor, not facing the river. Valet parking was only $19 (which was cheaper than a car park) and we were looked after well from the moment we pulled up. Concierge were fantastic and had our bag in our room before we had even checked in. The rooms themselves are quite lux and stylish. Beautifully appointed. Mini bar prices are quite reasonable as well! Only drawback was the pillows were quite uncomfortable however we didn't order from the pillow menu. You could hear the train line behind the hotel but the only time it was noticeable was the freight train in the middle of the night. Terrace on the 21st floor was beautiful for a drink and the infinity pool looked amazing. Great service from all staff, nothing too much trouble. Would stay here again!

An amazing stay at the Emporium South Bank. I highly recommend it and would go back every weekend if I could. The room was complete LUX and the staff were so lovely. The stay ticked all boxes. Breakfast in the morning was probably the best breakfast we’ve had ever! An amazing little staycation, one to remember.

This was an 80 th birthday treat from my three children. They couldn’t have chosen a better place for me, beautiful furniture and fittings and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was to die for and the city views were amazing, so close to south bank and city cat ferries which made easy access to Brisbane city. Will definitely return when we are down that way again.

Everything about the hotel was excellent from the moment we checked in to checked out. Front desk helped to get rooms ready earlier while we went for our lunch. The room has a balcony-beautiful view. Theres a beautiful restaurant on level 21 with outdoor and indoor dining overlooking the south bank river. We were given different pillows upon request that suits us. It is our habit to tip housekeeping each day but the tips were not accepted, and left by the side table!

Never done Riverfire live before so we treated ourselves to a weekend at Emporium Hotel with a balcony river view. Sensational experience and the staff at the Emporium leave no stone unturned to make it a memorable experience. Room was spacious and great design. Able to stand on balcony and view fireworks and Flybuys of F18s and ADF helicopters. A must do for Riverfire. Thank you Emporium South Bank and your wonderful staff. Strongly recommend as a place to stay when in Brisbane

The Emporium is an amazing hotel I wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Brisbane. We had stayed there several times and received exceptional service from all staff on each occasion. The rooms are modern, clean, the food is great, bars are good and the view from the Terrace is amazing, as are the view from the city view suites.
