We stayed at the Rose Cottage and have nothing to fault. The amenities were perfectly kept and had a great ambience . The gardens were tranquil and yet, we were only minutes away from the urban hub with a variety of gorgeous cafes and bistros to tickle our tastebuds. The hosts were more than accommodating and highly exceeded our expectations....

I've been staying at Lucerne for a few years now - so sorry about the slow review. I just love staying here. I am comfortable, close to the City and great restaurants everywhere, have great hosts and breakfasts direct from the free-ranging chooks in the spacious backyard. The bird calls are incredible from pre-dawn.....yet I am soo close to the...

Rose cottage is tucked away in the gardens of the old house called 'Lucerne'. The oldest continually inhabited house in Brisbane. It has character, a brilliant location, exemplary hosts and a warmth that made it a wonderful place to be in. Could not recommend highly enough.

We stayed a week at Lucerne on Fernberg in Rose Cottage and were very happy with our stay! The BnB has everything you can wish for - it's very cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and a good breakfast is provided - including lovely eggs from the family's hens. Brian is also very helpful in providing...

Very friendly, very helpful. Brian went out of his way to make sure our stay was exceptional. The cottage is well maintained while respecting the history of the property. I would definitely stay here again.

This B and B is a fabulous find for anyone seeking a little peace and quiet from the City hubbub. Brian and Helen make you feel extremely welcome from the first contact and are wonderfully helpful and friendly to help ensure your stay is smooth and easy. The cottages are lovely. The kitchen facilities for your breakfast hamper makes breakfast...

This was our first experience at a B&B, and it was a positive experience. Brian, the owner, is very accommodating and kind. He has an impressive property, with a high, vine-covered wall on the perimeter facing the street – I felt like we could survive a riot! Our living area was very spacious, homey, and clean. And the kitchen was...

I knew it would be a great experience from my very first E-mail exchange with the owners Brian and Helen. They were so helpful and friendly by E-mail and even more so in person. I flew to Australia (first time there) to visit my adult daughter who is living in Cairns and is engaged to an Aussie. We took the...

A really beautiful and well fitted out cottage situated in a great location - especially for the Suncorp Stadium. Very easy access to station and one stop to city! Very, clean welcoming and helpful and we have had a most enjoyable couple of nights. Back for 3 more in a couple of weeks...and looking forward to it.

We were well looked after by Brian and Helen. The location is quite excellent and the setting is very pleasant. The chooks and the old faithful dog Jetta were great fun. Breakfast was well-stocked and Brian went to a lot of effort to make sure we were comfortable (we were).

“Rose Cottage was our favourite, but other cottage is also beautiful.”

“I stayed Rose Cottage - which is well chair accessible - the other is not as it is 2 storey.”

“Rose Cottage did not disappoint.”

“The Coach House was just perfect for my daughter and I to stay in, as stairs are not a problem for either of us. But the larger, and slightly more expensive, Rose Cottage is even more charming and is handicapped accessible as well.”
NannyKDB, 26 Jul 2013 | Read review
“There are two separate self-contained cottages. Thus, one can have complete privacy and the loo, kitchen, main room (each away from the other) provide everything one needs. The frig is stocked with juices, eggs, cheese, butter and much more. Either the Coach House or the Rose Cottage would be swell.”
