Stayed here for 6 nights, the hotel was lovely, smell good and artsy. The staff are friendly as well. But the turn down service / cleaning was very disappointed. 1) there were hairs in the bathroom when we checked in 2) did not replenish tissue when it’s finished 3) coffee capsule were not refilled and thrown 4) water was not filled after cleaning one day 4, maybe they forgot. And the staff told me to refill downstairs water fountain. 5) the sensors has some problems where we have to pressed a few times. The cleaning services really need to improve. Other than that, others were fine during our stay.
This hotel was everything we expected and more. My husband and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and this is the best place we have ever stayed at. It was very modern and all the amenities were so convenient. I especially loved the layout of the room itself and all the tasteful storage spaces. The staff were amazing especially Kirsty and Amar. They were friendly and professional and were so helpful with all our requests. They easily exceeded all our expectations and made our hotel stay so memorable. We will definitely be coming back again!
Do not ever stay at this place. It discriminates against people with a disability and threatens to release security vision taken without consent.they lie about room availability and enter your role m without knocking or checking if you are there.discrimination is not something to be tolerated these days and I was made to sit outside the hotel on my wheely walker waiting for a taxi to take me elsewhere after I was ejected from my room. Absolutely necessary unacceptable treatment.
... unfortunately, the hotel wasn't as quiet as I hoped it would be. I could clearly hear doof doof music from Pachamama (one of the hotel's restaurants) in my room. The good news was, it stopped around 9pm every night and the only noise after that was the occasional siren or shout from the street. Aside from the noise issue, I liked everything else about the hotel. The rainfall shower was great and the internet was really fast.
Did a 7-night stay as a couple. The room was comfortable and spacious, including the bathroom/shower which was well-sized. The smart TV was great and had a good selection of movies on demand, and the quality of the screen and broadcast was clear. The hotel staff was also friendly and helpful. The hotel and room is artsy and tastefully designed, and it is also eco-friendly. Location is wonderful and right-smack in the middle of all the restaurants/pier. The only downside was that the rooms could have been cleaner (not that the rooms were poorly cleaned, but there were occasional spots missed during daily turnover).
Check In was seamless and Matthew handled all our questions about the hotel and Cairns in general with ease. This is an eco - friendly hotel so don't expect any plastic and paper he explained. The room key is a bamboo disk. Unfortunately our room was quite small and had an unpleasant smell and it had no opening windows or balcony. Thankfully Matthew was able to change us to a balcony room on level 1 immediately. The bed was comfortable but we couldn't get the A/C below 21 degs which we found necessary as the bed came with a heavy doona. The TV is great and you get a choice of 200 free movies. The fridge is quiet but no freezer. Bathroom is modern like the rest of the hotel. The room was clean. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. If you pay up front when you check in it costs $25pp otherwise its $30pp. Its in an odd location on the ground floor of the building next door. At 8:30 am there were only three or four people eating so the hot food had been there a while and was hardly warm. They had no black tea but oodles of other exotic tea. We complained about the tea situation and the desk were most apologetic and backed it up with a refund of our $50. You cant ask more than that after the event. The pool is tiny but there is another in the next building which we never saw. Water is cold this time of year. Why are there no hotels in Cairns with heated pools. Darwin has them, why not Cairns? We appreciated the late checkout at 12 noon.…
We booked a 2 night stay in a residence for 7 of us so we could stay together as we’d not seen our family for 3 years and didn’t want to waste any of our 2 weeks together. We arrived, checked in and went to our residence to find only enough accommodation for 6! After questioning Reception we were offered a temporary solution for 2 of us to stay in a hotel room in another block, they would make the Hotel Manager aware the next morning and they would look at other options the next day before getting back to us. Nobody contacted us the next day (although the Manageress said she called us once, no voicemail left and no message left under our door). Upon checking out we asked to speak to the Hotel Manager who apologised that we should not have been able to book for 7 and that it was a fault of their website that we’d identified that they had now corrected so thank you for highlighting that to them as it would allow them to give a better service in future - although this is good going forward, this certainly did not help us or the fact that we had lost very precious time together. Despite this, and other issues (broken bathroom door lock that was reported and not fixed, oven that did not get warm, only enough seating on the balcony for 4 in a room designed for 6, no towels by the pool and no water in the gym!), we were offered a 10% discount and told that they would not charge us for the extra room that we had to stay in because of their error. Obviously, staying in a separate room is not ‘compensation’ for your error; this only kept us away from our family and meant we had to travel back and forward through the hotel in our pyjamas in order to get the family time we had so much wanted and needed. We tried to explain to the Manager that no compensation at this point could ever make up for precious time we had lost together (two nights out of 14 after three years and five cancelled flights and absolute heartache), but I just don’t think this was understood. We already had another night booked at the Crystalbrook Vincent in Brisbane for this coming Saturday, but this experience has tarnished our feelings towards the hotel chain. Overall this has been beyond disappointing and a little heartbreaking of precise time that we’ll never get back together.…
I stayed here for a business trip and the room is beautiful and clean. The bed is comfortable and hotel is central to restaurants and the esplanade. However, from the first night, I awoke with severe issues breathing and congested sinus. I got progressively worse over the 3 nights - with the sickness getting better throughout the day until I returned at night. The only relief I got at night was to turn off the aircon. My symptoms were in line with breathing in mould so I can only speculate that the aircon was mouldy? I was sick for a week afterwards. Mould may not be the case but it seems most likely. Lovely, beautiful hotel with great staff but unfortunate to have made me so sick.
Stayed here for a work conference. The room was just as looks on website - clean, fresh... No smells as described in previous reviews. Nespresso machine for morning coffee. Housekeeping daily if wanted or a $10 credit on food and beverages bill if choose no housekeeping. One block back from water front. Only issue is that pool is in shade in the afternoons so wasn't warm or appealing at this time of year. We went to the Crysallbrook Riley for a swim and lie in the sun. Would probably stay at the Riley next time as across from water and better pool, but the Bailey was perfect for conference and location as well. Both about same price.
This is way overpriced for the room and the service. Actually there really isn't any service once you check in. No information given on the hotel like if breakfast and food is available. Is there a pool. We stayed a very long week. The device in the room had the wrong name for half the stay (not consecutive so no idea). Housekeeping checked up on several days as they said they had been advised the room should be vacant. I know the world is short staffed but simple procedures in place stop stuff ups. We also looked to have dinner on the 3rd floor. Arrived in the lift and met another couple leaving. There was no one else there and the DJ?? was playing music so loud we couldn't even hear each other. That was at least 4 people who didn't dine. Also one night tried to cut through the downstairs restaurant to reception as it was a bit windy and was told no way. Must walk around.…
