We stayed for 5 nights and paid for breakfast with our package. On the first morning there was no breakfast available, only told bluntly “kitchen issue “. On the second and third morning cold breakfast only. On the 4th and 5th morning, there was hot breakfast but very very basic. Not even scrambled eggs. No discount or refund offered. Most staff very friendly, one in particular was very unfriendly.
Stayed here for 2 nights over easter. Chose a King room and on arrival were upgraded to a King Suite on Level 5. View across to Cairns and up to the mountains was very relaxing and with a largish lounge area separate to the King bedroom there is plenty of room to relax if it is an extended stay. For those who like the exercise its not s huge walk into the city especially if you go a few blocks to the foreshore parklands and wander along that way. Busses (quite a few) run along Sheridan Street as an alternate and a taxi ride is only a few $. Airport is also a short taxi trip and the hotel will have one outside within minutes as they did for us a couple of times. Hotel staff are very helpful and the restaurant serve very good meals. We ate there 3 times for evening meals. Next door is Dunwoody's Hotel which offers a great alternate for an evening meal or a nights entertainment (once their renovations are complete).…
Great hotel at a great price about 7 minutes drive from the airport. Reception were friendly, the room was a good size and very clean. Bathroom was big with an actual bath. We only stayed for one night, but would definitely stay here again if we come back to cairns.
We booked here Easter Saturday and Sunday prior to a tour and arrived back here tonight end of tour. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are lovely. We have a deluxe queen suite but last week were upgraded to a king suite white had a lounge and separate bedroom. We ate in the restaurant over the three nights and meals delicious. The whole experience being here has been perfect. There is a bus outside to get into town if no transport. There is a hotel next door Dunwoody which I be I eve the meals are great but none served at present due to renos. The waitress from breakfast our first night made us a breakfast tray for the following morning as we had to leave early. Nothing has been too much trouble. Excellent place to stay
Stayed overnight when in Cairns for business. Late flight so 24 hour reception is very handy. Room was modern and had heaps of USB charging ports. Clean facilities and room was well appointed. A fair walk to the centre of Cairns.
We had 1 night at this hotel arriving in the middle of the night due to a cancelled flight! They have 24 hour reception which suited our needs. The bed was very comfortable, it was all very clean and we appreciated the tea/coffee and milk in the room.
The Sheridan was booked for us as part of a package. We were impressed. It is a hotel that we would love to return to. While the location at first appeared nondescript, a fair distance from the city centre, we soon learned that we were close to a great park by the water and that the walk into the centre was simply beautiful. And not only that, the bus service from just outside the hotel (reception alerted us to this) is frequent, even in the evening, to the city centre and also took us to Palm Cove. As for our refurbished room, it was entirely pleasant and comfortable. Large, modern and spotlessly clean, the mattresses deserve special praise. The guest laundry was a bonus. Staff were genuinely friendly throughout our stay.
Only 3 days into my stay here but more than happy with everything. I can't comment on the refurb as this is my first time but all the amenities are very nice. I will certainly be back, the staff are love it and helpful and I was upgraded because I booked direct with the hotel. Can't complain about the food either, had room service last night and really enjoyed the meal.
This was a pleasant, OK stay. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. The combined shower/bath needs a makeover, but the hot water is instant and there is excellent pressure and flow. Check in and check out were quick, friendly and efficient with check out offering to arrange a taxi to the airport which arrived in 3 minutes. It is in a great location for an overnight stay for the airport and Dunwoodys next door. A bit of a walk to the city centre, but there are regular buses right out front. A nice swimming pool next to the deck section of the restaurant. There are reading lights, powerpoints and USB charging stations next to the bed on both sides, something which is sadly lacking in many hotels. The Wi-Fi in the room was often sketchy, but good in the restaurant. Considering the heavy traffic outside, it was pretty quiet, though they could do with black out curtains. Unfortunately there were some incredibly rude people slamming doors and standing in the corridor having loud conversations for some time from 4.30am which was frustrating to say the least, though the hotel can't be blamed for bad behaviour. The restaurant wasn't too bad and the service good. Overall, an OK stay.…
Hotel at the time or our stay was undergoing renovations which is never a good thing. That said the bathrooms certainly need it with still the shower over the bath. Hotel location is far from ideal. If you want to be close to the city Centre then give this hotel a miss. The location also exposes the rooms to significant road noise which is a huge negative. On site parking is very limited another significant negative particularly if you are traveling by car and have it loaded with gear. This is not what I expected from a Sheridan hotel and I must accept I made a bad choice which will not happen again. The room aside the bathroom was clean and well presented as was the general environs of the hotel aside the mess and clutter associated with the renovations. I really believe that hotels undertaking renovations should declare it on their website so as a customer you know what you are in for otherwise you are paying for something you are not actually getting. No chance of a sleep-in as the workmen were at at 0830. The staff are helpful and friendly but it does not compensate for the negatives.…
