The location is fabulous. Our room had a lovely view of the shore front. We had a terrace and we enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the busker. The staff were very accommodating which was fabulous. The rooms are not serviced daily which I didn't realise - but it was fine. The room was spacious and comfortable. We went on an all day snorkeling cruise on the day we checked out of the Mantra. The staff were terrific, allowing us to store our luggage for the day and on returning from snorkelling, have a shower in the gym before we left for the airport for our flight.
Fantastic location. Very friendly staff. Free, easy to use, secure and covered parking. Pool looked nice. Room was tired, in need of an update. You don’t expect to see an empty TV bracket hanging off the wall in this high end price point ($350 a night). Only stayed one night but notice said rooms were not serviced daily. Again expect better at this price. Overall though, the very friendly and efficient staff easily made up for deficiencies. A very nice stay.
The hotel was clean, convenient and staff was very helpful. Hotel was in an Excellent location, plenty to do with tours available right next door. Every type of restaurant easily available and all types of shops within a very short walking distance.
Room was very grubby, did ask for change, but none available…….booked for 10 days and had just ONE clean during that time, well below standard and hardly surprising the rooms are dirty. We used cooking facilities in the room, and cooktop was greasy. Bathrooms really unhealthy
Regular traveller to Cairns and usually stay elsewhere. Tried here and paid top dollar to only get a room with a view of Woolworths. Rooms are nice and bed very comfortable. TV’s are tiny. Can pay same amount at other places and get a ocean view. I won’t be back to stay there unless there is no accommodation elsewhere. An ocean/esplanade view makes all the difference.
Best thing about this hotel is the location. It's central, but just slightly out to not be disturbed by all the bars, restaurants and traffic along the esplanade. Second best thing was definitely the staff, always warm, friendly and smiling, both at reception as well as in the restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable, however if you want to sleep in one of the beds together (there are 2 beds in the room) then I hope you're both small as the beds are double and they are quite small, especially if you're used to a queen or king size. Breakfast was a tad meh, but there's plenty to choose from, and the bircher muesli was excellent.
EXTREMELY overpriced for what you get. The only positives are the perfect location and (most) of the friendly front desk staff. One front desk staff man (older, bald, “been there for 20 years”) was terribly rude and argumentative. The wi-fi is pretty bad except in the lobby and we complained, his stance was that “it’s complimentary and not necessary, and not the hotels problem it’s not working properly”. Continued to argue with us when we said the hotel advertises free wifi and should be delivering on that advertisement. Terrible customer service and attitude from him. I went down to see another front desk staff the next day and she was more than happy to move us to a room that had better wifi accessibility. The manager was also very understanding and kind, and definitely impressed with her and all other staff bar the bald man. In terms of the room, they are older, musty smelling, needing of upgrades and renovations badly. Parking is very very limited and the garage is hard to navigate. The showers had black mould growing in the corners and along the caulking. The washing machine was not working properly and the water and suds came up into the washroom from the drain, and the agitator continually spun out of control. Lots of negatives about this hotel unfortunately, which is disappointing because if it’s prime location. Would not stay again due to the fact it is so incredibly expensive just for a view.…
We were welcomed on the front desk by a very happy Tom who was so helpful to us throughout our stay. we went in "winter" but my sons still used the pool (even though it was a little cold at first). They were the only ones in it. There was no option for breakfast at the hotel but there were so many restaurants nearby it wasn't a problem. Location was fantastic - right near the terminal for the boats going to the reef. Lots of shops nearby and restaurants for every food imaginable. Very close to the night market which was nice to have a wander around. Hotel is opposite the lagoon (which was unfortuately closed during our stay) but i should imagine is a great place to take kids and have a splash in the water. Our suite was a little dated and the kitchen was hit and miss with using various sockets but was functional enough for what we wanted (mainly breakfast and snacks as we ate dinner out). The rooms were clean and so spacious. When we asked for extra towels and toilet rolls from front desk they were brought up immediately. We had a good, comfortable stay here - i looked at so many different hotels before choosing this one and would say I was happy with my choice.…
Perfect Hotel for all activites and eateries very quite & clean rooms beatifull views, pool & spa was great easy to walk to all resteraunts and along the esplanade easy stroll to wharf and city centre, shoppinf etc.
Our unit was in a Great Location with fantastic Ocean Facing views. Our stay here was Excellent. Central to all the resturants, coffee shops etc However, considering the tariff our only concern was a lack of general maintenance. Including the lounge room TV was not able to be used. A sliding wardrobe door needs attention (was diffucult to slide). Furniture, including the carpet is dated and needs upgrading. Overall our stay was a very Postive one. The Staff were always very helpful and pleasant. Would Recommend this Property.
