Stayed here for 2 nights mid January with a family of 5 before heading to port Douglas. Was slightly apprehensive after reading some poor reviews, so didn't put all our eggs in one basket & booked another hotel for the last night of our trip.......More

Stayed overnight in a standard room. Located an easy walk from all city centre attractions, shops and dining. Comfortable rooms. Didn’t overlook pool lagoon but room was quiet at night. Very comfortable bed Room more than adequate for one night. Varied buffet breakfast available

We've stayed in several Novotel hotels before. Again we were impressed with the whole experience including excellent facilities, location, pool, pool bar, breakfast and staff, with free and easily accessible wifi.

You are 1 block (250m) from the Esplanade - fronts the ocean. This is not a swimming area due to crocs and stingers. However just a few 100m on there is a very large waterfront pool/BBQ/boardwalk area which has families, tourists, etc all year round. Beautiful. Swimming beaches where you can walk on a sandy beach and swim in a netted enclosure are dotted along Cairns northern suburbs 10-30mins by car. Trinity beach; Yorkeys knob are lovely - palm cove my favourite. Accomodation available at all three but you would need a hire car if wanting to go to all tourist places.
