Good location. Less than 5mins walk to the Esplanade or the main drag for eats. Room was very spacious, bed comfortable. Bathroom, however, leaves a lot to be desired…outdated, too cramped, door almost touches the toilet when opened. Needs refurbishing/repainting overall
This place was terrible. Do not be fooled by the pictures when booking, they were clearly taken years ago when it first opened. The hotel and rooms are nothing like the pictures. All the rooms were dark and dingy and smelled stale and mouldy. We approached the staff on reception to request a room that was not dark, dingy and smelly only to find out they are all the same. We were offered a premium room for an extra $100+ on top of what we had already paid but even that room still had a mouldy smell. The staff did not seem to care, were not helpful and admitted that the place does need renovating.
The location of the Ramada was wonderful. Unfortunately the room was dirty. The place is very run down and the staff were not friendly or helpful (generally speaking as a few were happy and friendly). It was very noisy at night time
Pro : 1. Location 2. Daily Housekeeping 3. Room size Con : 1. Poor bathroom tiling and mildew 2. Furniture, living room tiles and general outdated and worn. 3. AC not required but noisy anyway 4. Building structure shabby and generally untidy, not up to the expected Wyndham standard 5. Overpriced, more representative of a run down old style motel Conclusion: 1. Not my 1st choice for any future visit.
Stayed 12 nights. For the price of the Tower room, I expected more. Furniture scratched and outdated. Paint on ceiling peeling. Smudge marks on the walls. The balcony needs a descent clean. The breakfast has limited options.
Neat, tidy, comfortable rooms. Enough to sleep 2A + 2C. We travelled with our 13 and 11 yr old and found the room configuration easy. We also liked that it was not separate quarters so we could all hang out together when we did go back to the room. May not be ideal for all families, so keep that in mind. Less than a 5min walk to the Esplanade & about 15 min walk to the marina (for any tours out on the reef). We loved our stay. Would we stay again...ABSOLUTELY!
We were a group of 10 ladies (5 rooms), arriving at 9am...we stored our luggage so the staff were aware we were there but at 3.00 not even 1 room ready, had to insist on keys and waited outside the rooms. If we hadn't done this I swear it would have been 4.30pm before any rooms ready. Clean enough at check in but cracked tiles, a sign in the bathroom to use a bath mat as the floor was very slippy but we didn't have one. Some days the bin would get emptied, some days not, wine bottles never removed, tissues not replaced. It was just very hap hazard and while in a good location (aquarium opposite and Dundees Steak and Seafood opposite) I am sure there are better places to stay.
Staff were friendly and welcoming however room was definitely not what was pictured on website or trip adviser. Small room with four of us in it. Bathroom was appalling- dirty and tiny. Had to climb around toilet and into bath to get to shower. Kitchenette was weird. Connected to bathroom. Kettle and tea coffee small fridge. No utensils and only two mugs. Pool had no lighting of a night as pictured. Whole place was rundown and felt a bit of a shambles. Glad we were only there for two nights.
We recently stayed for 4 nights in King rooms. The resort is very average and that is being generous. It is as if there is no management that is overseeing good operations. Whilst the cleanliness of the rooms is good, the upkeep of the resort is very shabby. The tapware in the rooms are very poor quality. The outside verandahs are filthy on the floors. Each day for room service, there was no consistency with replacement of towels. One day, we would get a new bath mat, next day, one clean hand towel. Every day we had to ask at reception for clean towels. Two days, we were told there were no fresh towels as they were still at the laundry. Another day they only had pool towels. Some major concerns in terms of safety. In the downstairs car park, a fire detector was taped over making it useless. The entrance to the car park has two large areas of exposed wiring. This resort was really disappointing. The lift has a missing panel at the bottom. Ramada always has a good reputation but this resort really is not up to standard at all. It looks great on the outside but very run down. Disappointing.…
I had a two night stay in Cairns and didn't want to pay a fortune for a room I was only sleeping in. The Ramada was perfect. It's an older style hotel, but it was as clean as a whistle, perfectly positioned to explore Cairns city centre, and the reception staff were extremely friendly. I was shocked to read the recent Tripadvisor comments - that was not my experience at all. The hotel was fantastic for the cost.
