Dirty rooms, mould in the shower, no towel rail/hanger or exhaust fan in the bathroom, not enough plates or cups. My sister stayed in another room and had to mop the floors and clean the the grime off the light switches because it was so dirty. There are signs saying you will be charged up to $80 if the cleaners have to clean (do their job) after you leave. Would not recommend.
We stayed one night at Reef Palms and found it to be very clean and a great place to stop at for a few days. We had a queen room with a kitchenette. Staff were very obliging and friendly. Very eager to assist wherever they could. Would definitely recommend for a short stay. Close to Cairns City.
Our stay was great, roomy and comfortable. However, DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed on 29 September, and we are still waiting for our security bond to be refunded. I have waited, sent several emails, made many phone calls and have also contacted booking.com. I keep being told that it's my bank that is at fault. I have waited patiently for long enough before posting this review. Hopefully now, Chris and his team might take more urgent action.
Although we arrived during the signed opening hours the front door was locked. I pressed the night call button (numerous times) which remained unanswered, and rang the hotel which ended with the same result. Luckily I went walkabout and saw what I thought was the room of the operator. I knocked on the window and managed to raise the staff. They said they didn't see/hear the night call. The room itself was a good size, but smelt of a heady cocktail of disinfectant and body odour. A sign in the room told us to lock the sliding door do it was hard to get fresh air and remove the smell. The bathroom was mouldy and the bath/shower tray heavily stained.Upon running the hot water the pipes banged very loudly, as well the noise from other rooms when they flushed the toilet or turned on a tap. In short I would not recommend this motel.…
I booked in for five nights. Being a woman we get the time of the month, and well mine decided a visit was needed. So I've asked for clean sheets (you know what it is) they said they can't do it and had to sleep with no sheets for the duration of my stay and then get told I had to purchase sheets. On the website it's says cleaning daily??? Well gotta pay for it even though you already do when you book the room. Have a nice stay.
