Wonderful!!!!!!. Our 2nd night after flying into Cairns. Bruce and Lynne are doing a fine job of presenting a relaxing clean motel after less than perfect previous owners. The table of knowledge, famous for before and after dinner chats (solving all the problems of the world) is a wonderfull way to wind down after a perfect day in a perfect...

That July 2007 'Trip Advisor' entry is out of date. It's now the Pelican Motel, not a hotel, and it's now part of the Australian 'Golden Chain' set-up; not a Comfort Inn hotel. Lyn and Bruce, the new owners, have transformed the place, the gardens are neat and tidy - they showed us photos of what it was like when...

We had a wonderful stay at the Pelican Motel (previously Comfort Inn). The owners made us feel extremely comfortable and were very informative about the area. It was a very personal experience rather than staying at a big hotel or apartment building. Lynn and Bruce have been there for just under a year and have recently refurbished the grounds and...

We arrived at the motel at midnight and shortly after Lynn checked to see if we had everything until the morning, Bruce and Lynn made us very welcome, they had just taken over the motel and the effect was immediately obvious. The units were well presented and clean. The gardens were tidy and the swimming pool was in tip top...

We have just returned from a week on the Tablelands. The Motel is excellent and so is the price. The new owners are more than helpful. We found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and spacious with a kitchenette and a new fresh feel. It's only a short drive into the heart of Port Douglas. Would recommend it.

Just wanted to put it out there that this motel is a wee beauty, lovely friendly owners and GORGEOUS POOL, we were on a budget and travelling with kids, the experince we had with Bruce and Lynn was worth putting out there, they made our stay in this lovely wee town a real pleasure.

This location falls far short of international hotel chain standards. The room we stayed in had a horrible smell which we could not get rid of despite buying Lysol. In the "fresh" bedding we found hairs. The sheets were not changed after our first night there. My friend is allergic to dogs and she felt like the owner's dog had...
