My wife and I took a side trip to Port Douglas Australia and stayed at By the Sea. The team was absolutely fabulous and it was perfect for our first trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Very quaint and easy walking distance from the shops and restaurants, plus just a short walk to the beach. We look forward to going...

By the Sea hotel is really by the sea... A walk of a minute and a half will take you to the area of the beach where you can safely swim. The room is spacious and very well equipped with all the accessories you might need, like a fridge, microwave etc. You can get free of charge almost anything you...

Dear UAvron Thank you for staying and your very positive review. Thank you for also pointing out we do not have a lift. Hardly any resort has a lift in Port Douglas and one of the reasons for this is that our buildings are not allowed to be higher than a palm tree. Most resorts are usually no more than...

We couldn't have picked a cleaner, friendlier, 'we think of everything' spot to stay in Port Douglas than this place. Our room was immaculate, the bathroom recently updated, the view gorgeous and private at the same time, the extras super great, thoughtful and free from books, dvd's, beach chairs, umbrella's and towels to goggles, bikes and more. The staff were...

This is the only place we have stayed where everything is included in the price, and when I say everything I mean everything has been thought of! All beach accessories from chilli bins & ice to deckchairs/loungers/sun umbrellas/towels, even a trolley to get your gear to the beach. Bikes are available to use, DVD'S & books to borrow. The lovely...

We recently stayed here for 6 nights with our 2 year old toddler in Sadies Den. From the time of our booking a couple of months prior the girls kept in contact and were very helpful. They supplied a portacot, pram and arranged our transfer from the airport with a car seat so we didn't have to worry about bringing...

Friendly and efficient staff checked us in, helped with luggage and showed us how everything worked. Four of us stayed in the Rainforest family canopy, everything we needed for our stay was available in the unit and only 50 metres from Four mile beach, or swim in the heated pool.Everthing else for the beach is available at reception for free,...

If you're going to Port Douglas, I encourage you to stay here! The ladies at By The Sea are super friendly and thorough with communication in the lead up to your stay, they're also a wealth of knowledge on the local area. I had to check in very late one night and they had everything laid out ready to go...

The first thing we noticed upon arrival was the location, just steps to the sea and a quick walk to shops, restaurants, and the docks. The second thing we noticed was the attentive, kind, and professional staff. Seriously, they are THE BEST! By The Sea has a ton of extras, all for free. Beach chairs? Check. Pool floats? Check. Coolers?...
