This has still got to be the best place to stay in the Port Douglas area. Just a very short drive from the maddening crowd – yet close to all the region’s attractions – takes you to such a quiet, restful and stunning Balinese inspired resort with fantastic views. Andre and Anthony’s attention to detail, warm hospitality, great tips etc...

We enjoyed a leisurely and deliciously fresh breakfast each morning whilst drinking in the spectacular views from the verandah. This would only be surpassed by an evening swim to finish out the long balmy tropical Queensland days. Mai Tai Resort is a fantastic place to start and finish your day if you are looking to stay near Port Douglas. We...

Anthony and Andre were tremendous hosts during our stay. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We really enjoyed the beautiful breakfast and lying by the pool whilst taking in the amazing view. We are already planning our next stay at the Mai Tai and will definitely be recommending this beautiful resort to our family and friends!

The resort modelled on Bali type design and the hosts were more than helpful booking and reserving must see locations for us such as the Barrier Reef. Breakfast only is served but location is only a short distance from available supermarket and restaurants. Location is on the side of a mountain and is very peaceful, We certainly would stay there...

Our 5 night stay was just perfect. Anthony and Andre with their beautiful family (Leon, Cleo, Eros, Rebel, Crystal and Prince) made us feel so warm and homely. Each morning their special care and good chats at breakfast time made us feel so special. They have extensive knowledge about Port Douglas and Cairns. Anthony and Andre gave us a lot...

Our 3 night stay was perfect in every way. Anthony and Andre made us so welcome in their heavenly resort, the furnishings are luxurious, the bed so comfortable and waking up to a spectacular view of the rainforest covered mountains made us feel we were really in a very special place. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy and Anthony and...

WE really enjoyed our stay here for 2 main reasons: 1) Our hosts. They were lovely - friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. They organised all our tours to the rainforest and reef as well as giving us great advice on our self drive through the tablelands to Cairns. They also recommended a few "local" restaurants which were...

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful places to stay high in the mountains close to Port Douglas (15 min drive), with two great hosts, Anthony and Andre (laid-back, friendly, funny and helpful). Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Andre with a glass of ice cold water, Leon (the sweetest Burmese mountain dog) along with a handful of...
