The Mai Tai is located a short distance from Port Douglas on the Mosman/Mt Malloy Road on the side of a mountain surrounded by lush rain forest. You will need a car if you are going to stay here and need to accept that if you go out for a meal in the evening one of you is going to...

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. Andre and Anthony were very helpful in recommending tours as it was our first time in Port Douglas. The room we stayed in was very clean and stylish. The views from the mountain/rain forest was amazing and a great alternative to the usual water views you see in coastal...

We've just returned from staying at Mai Tai for 3 nights. Its a lovely Balinese style retreat with amazing views across the surrounding rainforest. Dispite the name (and as their website makes clear) this is not a large impersonal resort, but rather an intimate, tranquil retreat - away from the hubub of the coastal resorts - while still being close...

I stayed at the Mai Tai Resort for 3 nights and my only regret is not staying longer. This is a great private location set in the Mountains in the hinterlands of Port Douglas. As a single traveller Mai Tai was just a perfect pit stop for some serious R&R ... sitting by the pool and just relaxing with the...

I suppose this is so highly rated because of the hosts, because the room and facilities are nothing special. Breakfast is nice but I wouldn't call this a 'resort' because it's really a bed and breakfast with a small pool. If you have allergies then stay away, there's 2 giant hairy dogs and a couple of cats too. The hot...

Yes you’re right we are highly regarded because we do go out of our way to provide every guest with excellent service and that’s what makes Mai Tai stand out from the rest. When you make a booking to stay somewhere one would hope that you do your homework and you check out the website first before making your selection....

We stayed at Mai Tai for our much anticipated honeymoon. Andre & Anthony were absolutely amazing hosts. The room rented was perfect impeccably decorated/ spacious/clean/beautiful views ( it even had a coffee bar and mini fridge). They were very friendly and helped us with all of our questions related to the area. Andre was a delight each morning with breakfast....

Very different for us and a little out of the way. However Anthony and Andre are great hosts - very attentive without being overbearing. Very relaxing and beautiful views. Next time we visit Port Douglas we'll definitely come back. My partner loved the dogs - Tara and Aerus(?).

This was our third visit to Mai Tai and we will continue to go back time and again. Our first experience was in September, 2011. Since that time we cannot get over the overwhelming feeling of relaxation from the minute we started up the driveway, we new we were in for a treat! The first time we visited, Anthony and...

Having spent almost a week at Mai Tai and having originally hesitated between it and other resorts closer to the beach, we could not have been more satisfied with the choice we made. Upon arrival to Mai Tai and during a conversation with our wonderful host, Anthony (Andre was away unfortunately) during our first breakfast while enjoying the beautiful view...

We were on our month long pan Pacific Rim honeymoon. Great barrier reefs was our second last stop (or Port Douglas/Cairns). Always profited from Tripadvisor's reviews on new destinations, we booked the Mai Tai. I always loved Bali and its practical yet intriguing architecture, it was a no-brainer. After a disappointing stay in Cairns, we were really hoping for a...
