Not a bad place but was disappointed after seeing the website which makes it a lot better than it is. Affordable but totally "unspecial" - if you can spend a bit more I'd go elsewhere. Expect a 20 minute walk into town. Poor internet and strange manager! It fulfilled our needs but I like to stay at really nice places... More

Wasn't too sure about this place on first entering the office but quickly felt at home. Very nice pool area, but could have been swept up a bit more often. The apartment was a spacious 2 bedroom. Nice & bright. Somewhat older but in good repair. Decent walking distance to town and the trail to 4 mile beach. Very quiet... More

We stayed for two nights at the Lychee Tree in November 2009. Our apartment was extremely spacious and well equipped. Located slightly out of town, it is just a couple of minutes walk to the famous 4-mile beach, and an easy 10 minute walk into the centre of the Port Douglas (a relatively small town/village). Ample parking is available next... More

This is a great little spot about 10 mins walk from the main drag in PD. The Unit was spacious, clean and had a great kitchen. The pool was also a really nice area. Rodney, the owner, is also really good on helping out on where to go/what to do which made our stay in PD a great one. Would... More

Stayed at Lychee tree in early December and found it to be a good deal. The place is clean, has a nice pool, apartment was fine for our purposes and staff very friendly and helpful. We had two couples in two bedroom apartment in back of building. There was parking adjacent to room, A/C in bedroom, and washer/dryer which was... More

My Husband and I stayed here for 7 nights based on the great reviews from Trip Advisor and the "Stay 7 pay 5" promotion advertised on their website. Having stayed at a couple of different 3 star accomodations in Port over the years, within the same price range, we were a little dissapointed with this place. We were given a... More

LycheeTree, Manager at Lychee Tree Holiday Apartments, responded to this review

It is always unfortunate when a guest chooses to air their dissatisfaction through a website rather than in person. Had we been aware of any problems with this apartment we would have gone out of our way to make sure our guests left happy. With regards to comments re bedding and VCR, these have been passed on to the owner... More

Because I planned to be out and about in Port Douglas I looked for somewhere that was on the cheaper side, first looked into the backpackers but ended up with MUCH better value at the Lychee Tree. For LESS than a private room (with a grotty ensuite and a very grotty shared kitchen) at the backpackers I got a huge... More

We stayed at the Lychee Tree for a week in September 2009. The resident managers were away (probably having a well earned break) but the temporary manager was terrific. The accomodation in our 2 bedroom unit was basic and simple but everything that we needed was included. Travelling with a 3yo and an 8yo meant that we often ate "at... More

We absolutely loved our stay at Lychee Tree! The apartments are spacious and comfortable and the grounds are beautifully maintained with a gorgeous pool to lay around in the afternoons! Lee and Paul were incredibly helpful from the time we booked our stay through arranging our transportation back home--they even provide personalized recommendations for tour trips (and other activities around...
