Excellent location, friendly staff and very clean and well appointed rooms made this a very enjoyable experience. From the moment we met Liz at reception, we felt welcome. The 2 free form pools were very clean, with plenty of s7n lounges to enjoy. The location was very close to the main shopping and eating area of McCrossan St, as well as a 2 minute walk to beautiful Four Mile beach.
Excellent property , Spacious and well equipped apartment , Very well located area, every thing is very close by .Beach walk ,restaurant, shopping. We enjoyed our stay and staff is also very helpful . Thank you we enjoyed our stay .
We had a nice stay at Shantara Resort. The accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. We also enjoyed the proximity to Port Douglas, which was only a fifteen-minute walk. The self-contained apartments was also advantageous, as we often cooked our own meals rather than eating out. A significant negative, however, was an experience with our shuttle, to and from the resort. I had neglected to book our shuttle in advance and attempted to get in touch with the resort to book on the day when we were due to arrive. I had received no text, email or phone confirmation that a booking had been received, nor directions for when and where to get on to the shuttle, so we assumed it hadn’t gone through and arranged another shuttle from the airport. We thought this was the end of the matter until we looked at our bill. We were surprised to find that we had been charged for the shuttle that we had not taken. I attempted to contact the resort, only to be told that we were at fault and had to pay for the shuttle. I reminded them that we had received no communication about the booking, but they were non-communicative. After repeated attempts to call them, and even after going through a secondary body, the resort refused to communicate beyond their original email. Be aware that it is very difficult to communicate with the resort. Rather than answer calls, the resort has a phone service that puts you onto something of a merry-go-round of calls, which they answer only when it suits them. Also, their email response is quite slow, so if there are any issues (like we had), don’t expect direct conversations, but a series of emails that hedge around the point, and allow the resort to avoid taking any responsibility for any issues related to a stay. This was disappointing and, frankly, ruined an otherwise pleasant experience. We had been inclined to return, but will not be doing so after this interaction.…
Our week-long stay was in a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor. Spacious and well-equipped, with a wonderful pool and al-fresco area, this adult-only resort is very peaceful and friendly. Well located, within walking distance to the main shopping and dining precinct, we would highly recommend and would certainly return.
Stayed here in early May and the room was great, lovely comfortable bed, kitchen had all that you would need to have an enjoyable stay. Very close to the main street in Port Douglas and all its great shops and restaurants. The pool was very cold but did not stop us swimming, wifi was non existent. The only think that would stop me coming back was the bath (I love a bath) it did not have a working plug, complained to reception and they said they cant get the right sized plug, not sure if that is correct.
We had an amazing stay at the resort! Beautiful location, we enjoyed a deck right to the pool from our room, which we used daily! The pool and resort were beautifully kept and we will be back for sure! Perfect location for a romantic couple get away!
The resort is nice and modern. The spa in the room is quite lovely and has a nice ambience. However during our stay the Manager incorrectly booked a transfer, forcing us to cancel and forcing us to pay for said service. Informed the resort of this & said it is was our responsibility to fix, not theirs despite them making the error. Very unprofessional management & will not be returning nor recommending.
Shantara Resort was the absolute perfect escape for our 20th wedding anniversary. Friendly staff, great amenities and so very clean and quiet. The pools were relaxing and bbq facilities were neat and tidy. Provision of complimentary washing machines and dryers were a welcome surprise (byo detergent or small fee from Reception). Fantastic location too, easy walking distance on footpath to beach or village. Best part for us on this occasion, was no children. We came for peace and quiet and that’s what we got. 10/10 Thank you lovely Shantara team.
We stayed at the Shantara for 4 nights for a short holiday. We had a pool side studio which was nice and perfect for our stay. Bed was comfortable and amenities were great no complaints. Staff were nice on arrival and found the Shantara to be a nice and quiet stay. Location was great and close walk to the main street.
We stayed at the Shantara for 7 nights for our honeymoon. They were exceptionally helpful when our flight from Melbourne was delayed to after their check in hours. We had a pool deck room, which we used morning, afternoon and night, it was so lovely to have a little space to enjoy a drink/snack outside and take a few steps to the water. The entire venue had such a relaxing atmosphere, the perfect way to spend our honeymoon, enjoying the busyness of Port Douglas and the reef and relaxing at the Shantara in the evening. We didn’t even miss the in-venue kitchen as we were within walking distance to all the delicious local eateries. We highly recommend Shantara, for a relaxing and romantic holiday!
