Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is ideally located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsundays Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Following an extensive $140 million redevelopment in 2018-2019, our stylish and tranquil island resort offers a range of refurbished spacious and modern rooms and suites with stunning views overlooking the pool and garden landscapes or with ocean views. There is an expanded food and beverage offering across the island with three restaurants and three bars including an exciting new Asian Fusion restaurant which joins the buffet and modern Australian restaurants. The Living Reef is the main centerpiece of the island which is a unique free form coral lagoon wrapping 200m around the central building and holding over 1.5 million litres of water. The Living Reef is home to over 100 species of marine fish, over 80 species of coral and a variety of invertebrates such as starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs. The Resort offers a revitalised pool landscape that sweeps through the tropical gardens across the resort allowing guests to swim and enjoy unparalleled views across the Whitsundays Great Barrier Reef along with unlimited access to a variety of non-motorised water activities. Daydream Island Resort’s event space will cater to major events, conferences and destination weddings, yet still provide a personal touch. Special events from cocktail parties to gala dinners can be catered for across a large range of indoor and outdoor event locations, with weddings continuing to play a part in the story of Daydream Island Resort.

Great 3 nights spent on the island with my two teenage children. We had a great relaxing break. Room was lovely and clean with great beds, nice view of the swim up bar. Food was good and breakfast buffet was up there with the best. Ruby the barista was awesome as was Chloe who makes fantastic cocktails. Staff friendly and very welcoming. Resort was very clean, pools great to and the ocean was spectacular as was the snorkeling.

Hotel's Favourite
We had an ocean view room which was really huge and had everything you needed. The resort was re-opening recently and so not many visitors so made it much quieter for us. Big buffet breakfast was included which was great. Dinner at all the restaurants over our 6 night stay. Great pool bar to sit and read a book. Was still a bit cool for the pools but they whole complex is beautiful. The young South American staff kept the place going as many permanents were on job keeper... they were so busy but always time for a chat, they were great fun!

This has hands down got to be the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Broken TV, dirty rooms (hairs in the bathroom when we checked in), uncomfortable beds. Thank goodness for the beautiful view and the aircon. Buffet food is absolutely disgusting!!! - I cannot stress this enough…. There’s nothing healthy to eat(They do however offer stale sandwiches at the tonic bar for $10) ..no fresh fruit and trays just keep coming out day after day of the same half eaten mess. You can’t eat anywhere else in the mornings unless you’d like to catch a $50+ ferry ride to Airlie etc. Food is very expensive and not worth the price, below I have attached a photo of $10 worth of chips. I suggest if you’re looking for a nice getaway you spend your money elsewhere. We will never be back & will urge all friends/family to stay clear.

Loved our week on Daydream Island. Fantastic restful escape. Ocean view room was very comfortable. Be aware level 3 rooms have tiny balcony, with no furniture. We moved to level two for lager balcony. Infinity was our pick of restaurants but all were good quality. Platers at tonic bar were good value. All our group snorkeled the living reef which was exceptional with our guide. Patting rays and ray sharks was fun. Snorkeling Lovers Cove was really good when water was clear. Fantistic fish, rays, coral etc followed by an ice cold beer when we finished. Took a trip on Camira to whitehaven beach and other spots. This is a must do trip brilliant vallue and the crew are professional and fun. Such a good day out. Pools were loverly and lots of choice, not to crowded when we visited. I wouldn't visit in school holidays the resort would be to busy. All the staff were wonderful Bethan & Clinton were standouts. Would definitely revistit Daydream again.
