We booked a seven night stay at the Chifley through Wotif and had a super deal including flights. Being in the tourist industry on the Gold coast I had read the reviews before booking so was aware that the hotel did not compare to the Marriott in Surfers, saying that we had an extremely comfortable stay, very welcoming staff upon...

My partner and I stayed on a Saturday night using a Groupon voucher. Our room was quite nice and the bed was comfy (plus the aircon worked well), but everything else about the place was a little dated. Sadly for us we didn't get to try out the breakfast as it finished at 10am on the Sunday morning and we...

Stayed here on business for a week. The hotel is in a nice position overlooking the lovely parks along South Terrace. The staff are friendly and the service good. Unfortunately the hotel itself is in need of renovation with tired carpets, furniture, bathrooms and lift. My room had a musty smell, the cold water barely flowed (the hot gushed) but...

Staff were lovely and room was clean but that's as far as it goes (didn't try the swimming pool so can't review but it looked alright). I could forgive the outdated decor except for the fact there was no main lighting in my room (the only ceiling light was in the entrance alcove) and with two dim bedside lamps and...

Unless you have no sense of smell, give this one a miss...which really is a shame, because staff, were extremely pleasant and helpful... The lift was so old noisy and dirty, that they did not run from 11pm til 6am...as no one would ever have got a wink of sleep! I woul however like to add the pool was clean...

I stayed at this hotel over a year ago but this has to be one of the worst hotels I've stayed at in Australia. Staff were ok, I noticed in my room it smelt of cigarettes so reported it to reception which they got housekeeping onto it straight away to put a chemical odor in which thankfully the cigarette smell...

Would agree with previous reviews, old but no problems with regards to cleanliness or service. Close to free tram in and out of city and easy access to Glenelg by tram. Our only problem was we were on the 4th floor near lift which meant very very noisy up to 11pm and after 5am. If your after a place to...

very disappointed, the Internet pictures have done wonders with this place! You'd need to drink a slab to get past the front counter. Then another to ride the lift. Then another to walk in your room and back 25 years! What a joke. The bath tube chipped, tiles falling off the wall. The beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever...

Booked here for convenience and wouldn't bother again. The rooms are tired bath chipped curtains have holes in them and not a cheap place to eat. The carpet in the passages and rooms old and needs attention not to mention the lift that makes you want to walk the stairs There are much nicer places close by here and wouldn't...
