Booked this hotel in the hopes of experiencing the pitch black underground rooms that are synonymous with Coober pedy. Unfortunately this hotel has lights in its corridors which remain on all night and a flimsy roller blind that lets light into the room ruining the experience.

We stayed at the Lookout Cave Underground Motel for a night on two separate occasions and both times had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, neat and tidy with all the amenities we needed for a quick stay. The view of the sunset is amazing! Will recommend to friends.

When you first arrive, you'll be confused as to where you're driving as it feels a bit out of town, but this place is awesome. The rooms are beautiful, staff are really welcoming and helpful and the views are the best in Coober Pedy. Highly recommend!

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. Unique hotel, never stayed underground before. Cool experience. I left my wallet behind. It was posted back with all my cash and cards still there. Would definitely stay again.

We could not fault anything. The staff were very warm, friendly and helpful on arrival and check in. The rooms are generous in size, gorgeous ambience, and very comfortable. We slept in due to the quietness, the darkness and and comfort of the bed. We were in no hurry that day therefore the sleep in was refreshing.

Stayed in the apartment and it was great. Clean and looked new. TV in the bedroom was a luxury and a big screen in the lounge room 2 small issues Fan in the bathroom is very noisy. Car alarm going off for about 20 mins but you can blame the hosts for that

We have stayed for three nights in this lovely underground hotel. The experience of being in a room carved deep underground into a sandstone hill is amazing. Being able to climb to the steps up to the hilltop roof gives great views of Coober Pedy and both sunrise and sunset,. The room was sufficient in size and the bed comfortable....

Nick and Jan were fantastic, more than helpful with recommendations etc. Rooms are super clean and welcoming. Awesome experience for our guests from Poland seeing underground accommodation! Great view from roof for sunset/sunrise photo opportunities.

This accommodation offers nice but simple accommodation, some rooms have been renovated, ours was not. This meant that the bathroom was pretty old and dated with a shower head located VERY low on the wall. There are no breakfast facilities so you will need to go into town each day for breakfast. The towels were very high quality, the bed...

We stayed one night on our way through from Adelaide to the Northern Territory but we wished we'd had time to stay more nights! Aside from the initial novelty value of staying in a cave, the whole experience was great, from the warm welcome, handy hints about where to go in town, the clean rooms and the amenities. WiFi is...
