Excellent location and friendly service/staff - View from the Superior Suite is amazing and very relaxing to just sit and enjoy the view. Room service food quality is above most hotels although limited selection. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip. The bath is rather narrow however still long enough to be somewhat relaxing but not best in class. Only negative was breakfast in the restaurant was rather perplexing, I asked for/ordered a side of Chorizo with my eggs and was asked if I ment sourdough? I'm like no Chorizo and pointed to the menu.... told this was not possible on the breakfast "package" - I had no breakfast package and they had not asked my room number before taking my order, had to be quite forceful to actually be able to order what I wanted which was listed on the menu which seemed quite ridiculous!…
Our stay at the Movenpick Hobart was brought on by a loss in the family, and we flew over to Tasmania for the farewell. We were due to stay 3 nights, but unfortunatley due to Jetstars flight cancellation on boarding the aircraft, we only stayed for 2 nights, as our flight was delayed 24 hrs. I called the Hotel and spoke to Richard who was so supportive and helpful and kind under our unfortunate circumstances, and changed our accommodation booking without any fuss. Richard was extremly helpful and calmed my stress level down as we were trying to rebook our flight to arrive into Hobart the following day. When we arrived at the beautiful Hotel we were greeted warmly and we were also given a room upgrade and a lovely sweet desert and thoughtful card was waiting for us in the room. a lovely thoughtful gift from Richard and the team. We got to meet Richard the following day and expressed our thanks for all he and the Team had done, from valet parking, the cleaners to the amazing food and service we received at Tesoro, and the two gentlemen that served us dinner were so lovely and helpful and we had a lovely night after a very emotional day,( I forgot to get their names). So we would like to say a huge big thank you to everyone at the Movenpick Hobart for their compassion, communication, genuine interest, and thoughtfulness in their customers, beauitful rooms and hotel and service. We have already started to plan a trip back to Hobart again ( which wasnt a plan previously to our stay)so that we can again stay at your amazing hotel, and again feel like family, we are also planning a trip to Europe next year and the Movenpick Hotels have now become a top Hotel option going forward! Thanks again to a remarkable Team.…
I'm an Accor Platinum Member, no mention of upgrade on check-in, I get that it's subject to availability. I've traveled around the world and they normally say at Check in we have upgraded you or we are full. Breakfast was really average, for a Platinum Member it's included for Breakfast, hosting staff kept on saying anything outside the standard portion I would need to pay for. There is no Buffet here it's À la carte, they wanted me to sign for the difference I declined and didn't order anything from the menu, (it had Main, + side and Coffee), I was a single travel so would have appreciated some common sense. No mention of Chocolate Hour which is a standard thing at Movenpick, I did speak to the duty manger who would pass on my concerns to the F&B Manager. I've had better Customer Service from an IBIS Hotel in Europe.…
The hotel could not be faulted room clean and luxurious. Accompanied with a great restaurant which also could not be faulted . Was one of my best stays with Accor any where in the world. I can’t wait to come back
The Movenpick Hotel was recommended by our travel agent, and it is a good choice for several reasons. Located on Elizabeth St, walking distance to the waterfront and short drives to all the areas to visit in Hobart. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. This is an Accor hotel, and I forgot to register my membership, but one of the staff thankfully gave me her email to add it on, as we were coming back, and we got a slightly bigger room, some drinks vouchers and some welcome chocolates. The rooms are quite small, but clean and minimalist. King sized beds are comfortable, but the memory foam pillows are a little on the firm side. The bathroom was clean and the shower good. The curtains are OK, but not completely blackout, so bring your eyepatches. You can hear the GPO clock chiming on the 1/4 hour, so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. We were fortunate to have waterfront facing rooms, which large windows to view the wharf and checking out which cruise ships were in dock. I had a quick breakfast in the downstairs restaurant Tesoro one morning. It was OK, and typical hotel fare. The one drawback is that the hotel has no on-site parking - for $35 a day you can have valet parking. You just need to factor in calling reception to arrange bringing the car around which takes usually 15-20mins. There is a carpark on Market Pl, a short walk away, but we couldn't really see the prices and whether it was actually worth it.…
The staff, the rooms, the breakfasts were amazing. The staff were friendly and professional. Rooms spotless. Breakfasts delicious. The location is excellent for getting around Hobart. The only thing that could make this place better is a more comfortable bed. But will definitely be back and recommend to anyone
This hotel was nice and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room could have been a little bigger, but the bed was quite comfortable and the shower was great. The location is very convenient with lots to see and do nearby.. also lots of great restaurants close by. The one negative is there is no self-park.
Great stay at Movenpick Hobart. Great location...easy walk throughout Hobart. Room was modern, well planned, and immaculate. Best of all was a great staff to make for a wonderful stay. If traveling to Hobart you will be pleased with your stay at Movenpick.
Rooms are small but very well laid our good bathroom, Food is very good, a la carte, breakfast was excellent, most staff were super friendly and made you feel welcome . I want to mention Mateo what a great host with a friendly and welcoming smile and made you feel at home, thank you to all staff. The chocolate hour there chocolate hour are a good opportunity to relax with a coffee and consume some of the free pastries offered, try the chocolate box very additive. It was very refreshing to see Jeremy the GM meeting and greeting guest and helping with loading of cars of departing guest or assisting clearing up some tables...... and supporting hard working staff in all areas.....
Comfortable rooms, great location, welcoming staff. This is a comparatively new hotel, central to everything in Hobart. I had a harbour view room. The staff are proud of their hotel- this is reflected in the way they welcome you. When I was told about “chocolate hour” - complimentary chocolate cakes in lounge in the afternoon- I said I would miss it as I had another appointment. The staff member sent a plate up to my room with a handwritten note.
