Stayed here a couple of times now and would be happy to do so again. Great location to all that Hobart has to offer. Good quality linens and comfortable bed. Parking has been provided around the area is available as they don’t have their own parking garage. The staff were very helpful and were able to answer any questions we had. I’d definitely stay here again.
The location was excellent for our 3 night stay. Walking distance to Salamanca Markets, main town area and the docks area with a great choice of restaurants and cafes, meaning that you do not need a car to get around unless you want to travel more than 1 km. Walking distance to Daci & Daci bakers in Murray Street which is a "must do" - great coffee, cakes and meals. Somerset on the Pier is different to most other facilities in that it is situated "on the pier", which means that car parking is not available under or beside the building. SOTP have arranged car parking spaces in 3 different areas nearby which is only a short walk away - hardly an inconvenience.
3 adults spent 1 night here. We loved the 2 storey room with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (noting one bedroom was on a mezzanine level with no door and only 2 of the 4 walls so very open). Room was spacious and had a big kitchen and family room area with a fabulous balcony right on Constution Dock with unobstructed views of the dock and old buildings across the water. At night, the lights over the dock were beautiful and it was interesting watching the fishing boats and sailing boats coming back to the dock. The room was clean and suited all our needs. We didn't want to leave that view !! Restaurants were underneath and there are plenty in walking distance also as well as Hobart CBD. Carparking is offsite but within 5 mins walk. Definately a great place to stay in Hobart.
My husband and I spent 4 nights at Somerset on the pier. We are well travelled and we found the room and location to be wonderful. Very spacious apartment with fantastic views of the water from the balcony. Connor at reception was great. Very helpful, professional and his welcoming smile and service was much appreciated. Mant thanks.
Somerset on the Pier is the perfect accommodation for staying in Hobart. We live outside of Hobart and it’s our choice for a city get away. Perfect location, smack bang in the middle of all the action, walking distance to city shopping, Salamanca markets and a variety of exquisite restaurants to suit all budgets. The view, OMG to die for, overlooking the famous Constitution Dock. Sit on the balcony with a yummy local produce Charcuterie platter and Tassie wine and what could be more perfect? Hint, there is a fabulous little supermarket called Salamanca Fresh within walking distance where you can purchase all your supplies, even a bunch of flowers to keep you in the good books, or bring on the romance...... We recommend the Salamanca markets on Saturday, if you have never been, however after COVID a lots less stalls which is understandable. Get there at 9am no later...... The actual accommodation is wonderful, it has everything you could need. Super comfy bed with TV. Kitchenette downstairs with microwave and fridge, tea/coffee facilities, dishwasher. There is a lovely deep bath in the nice size bathroom with all ammenities, and a washing machine and dryer for your convenience. A lovely big TV downstairs, working desk, dining table, lounge and coffee table. Little chairs and outside table on balcony. What more could you want. Oh and service was so friendly and welcoming, just superb. Fully recommend Somerset on the Pier.…
