Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern.

Location can't be faulted, and the 2 main in-house venues (Peacock & Jones and Lanscape) are really worth a detour. But the decor & interiors are tired and don't justify the exorbitant room charges which reached an eye-watering AUD600 on 1 night we stayed. Expectations not met -

This is the best hotel in Hobart, and one of the best anywhere. The wonderful renovation whilst retaining much of the history resulted in a supremely comfortable and stylish set of rooms and public spaces enhanced by beautiful art works, furnishings and fittings which all work

Dear Michele, I am finding it difficult to disagree with your assessment that The Henry Jones is the best hotel in Hobart! We are truly fortunate to be able to combine Hobart's iconic 1820s era IXL sandstone warehouses with some modern comforts and renovations. I am pleased that your experiences at our café, restaurants and design studio were positive, along with you encounters with our team members. And of course, it makes my day to read that your enjoyed our art and history tours; thank you for the endorsement. It sounds like you had 4 days well spent in Hobart. I hope you visit again soon. Kind regards, Greg Ball Guest & History Liaison

Had 3 nights at the Henry Jones. An historical experience with friendly staff. Every room is different and ours was good with large bathroom - all good aside from a user unfriendly vanity unit. Access to third level is by stairs and we were quite a distance from reception which

Dear MLA6011, Thank you very much for your endoresement of The Henry Jones Art Hotel. The rich history of this place makes The Henry Jones a unique experience, but equally importantly I am pleased you found our staff to be friendly and your room to be comfortable. As you correctly point out, some of our rooms are accessible only by stairs, however we do of course cater for both level access and wheelchair accessible requirements. Our reservations team can be contacted via reservations@thehenryjones.com and they will ensure an appropriate room is allocated. Until next time, safe travels. regards, Greg Ball Guest and History Liaison The Henry Jones Art Hotel greg.ball@thehenryjones.com

This attractive hotel has a stunning quayside location and it's within easy striking distance of Salamanca Place and its market. It's also quite close to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (small but highly recommended). The artwork in the communal areas of the hotel is also

Dear Ricky_Brent, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of The Henry Jones Art Hotel. I am pleased that you found our location on beautiful Sullivan’s Cove to be convenient base for exploring the city and its attractions; we certainly do not take for granted our proximity to the visual and culinary indulgences of Hobart. Equally, I am delighted that you were impressed by the Tasmanian art featured throughout the hotel; there is a wonderful depth of talent for a community of our size and a comprehensive catalogue is viewable on our website. Thank you also for your commendation of our staff members; we each bring perspectives and experiences from around the world, but we share a collective passion for Tasmania and a desire to share that with our visitors. Regarding the eccentricities of lighting and power sockets in your Studio Loft, your suggestions are noted and will influence our plans for future refurbishments. Our different room types feature a range of bathroom configurations for different requirements and we have the capacity to bring in additional storage or hanging rails upon request. Ricky_Brent, I am disappointed that your comfort was disturbed by noise from the hotel surrounds. While we do not have exclusive use of every carpark in the area, we have discussed as a team the necessity to move vehicles quietly, especially during early mornings and evenings. We will also continue to work with surrounding businesses to request that their deliveries are scheduled after 9:00am wherever possible. Overall it sounds like you enjoyed your travels through Tasmania. I hope you have an opportunity to return again; we will be delighted to welcome you back to The Henry Jones. And of course I am pleased that you appreciated the quality of breakfast and specifically our locally made jam; we aim to honour the legacy of more than a century of world class jam making. Best wishes and safe travels. Greg Ball Guest and History Liaison The Henry Jones Art Hotel greg.ball@thehenryjones.com

My husband and I stayed at the Henry Jones Art hotel for three nights. It’s a very cool restored historical building that used to be a jam factory. The walls and rooms showcase art that can be purchased. I highly recommend the free tour of the building at 4 pm.They also offer a
