The first impressions were a bit bad but once we checked in, everything was fine. The room and toilets wre very clean and kitchen had a lot of facilities. It was very convenient for travelling to the shops

Oh dear, I hope the first impression issue wasn't me! My wife always tells me she loves me for my personality so I think this might be another hint to put more effort into my appearance. Off to the barber for me - clean shaven and hair gel from now on. None the less I'm very happy to hear you...

I first didn't know what Hostel to chose but I m glad I chose the Frog! It's right in the center of Hobart and very easy to find because of its bright green veneer. Its a pretty big hostel with a nice common area where its very easy to meet new people. Since its my first trip alone in Australia...

My boyfriend and I booked this hostel because it was cheap with good reviews, and we were really pleased with it. The staff are friendly and very helpful in giving us advice on how to spend our time in Hobart. The downstairs has a very cosy, homey feel and the drinks at the bar are super cheap. Free wifi throughout...

Thanks Kerry! I think this review sums us up pretty accurately; not perfect, but overall a good, fun, cosy place to stay. We're very happy to hear you had such a nice stay with us and thanks again for taking the time to leave a review. Cheers!

Everything about this hostel is cosy and friendly. The staff are extremely helpful and always have a smile on their faces. The lively area is lovely a cosy with a ski resort vibe. There's also a tv with a ton of movies to watch and a huge area to sit in, whether you have some work to catch up on...

Absolutely brilliant, much more friendly and welcoming than your normal hostel. The staff are all super friendly and Sam I'm particular was great to chat to. The hostel provides free minibus rides to Mt Wellington, MONA and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary - perfect if you're on a budget. There's also plenty to do in the hostel - darts, pool, board games...

Sam! What a legend you are. Thanks heaps for your words - you're obviously a very observant individual with a significantly high IQ. All the best with your travels mate. Thanks again!

I spent one night in a 6-person female dorm late March. I had been driving around Tasmania for a week and just needed a place to sleep for the last night before my flight back to mainland Australia. I was actually trying to book a room at Hobart's Accommodation & Hostel (of which I already had good experiences) but it...

A very measured review Veera, and thanks very much for the feedback. You were just very unlucky with the showers as they were only closed for repairs for 12 hours - so I'm sorry about that. Our night man is meant to be keeping noise to an absolute minimum after 11pm which includes turning any music off so I will...

If you are looking for the Ritz you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a cheap place to stay, with a great staff and good location this is the place to stay. I stayed 2 days in the female dorm and met some really friendly people.

Our small bushwalking party has stayed in various backpackers accomodation in Hobart over the years. We recently discovered "The Frog", and it will now be our regular. Staff are friendly, rooms are basic but clean, and the place is well located. Our group of 3 is "of a certain age", but we were made as welcome as all the young...

I've stayed at the Pickled frog multiple times and every time it is amaaaaaaaaazing. The hostel is super social, the staff and knowledgeable and happy to help you with anything you could ever need and the location cannot be better. My favourite part has to be the two hostel dogs. :P

Clean and friendly. Central to everything, loads of good recommendations and the staff are super helpful. Would definitely stay here again! We had a private room for 3 which was comfy enough for the price.
