Good place to stay, perfect location. The free breakfast every day is great. The Big breakfast on Tuesday is amazing!! Everyone is very welcoming, feels like a little family. Relaxed vibe. Very friendly staff, especially Chris! He's a great mate!

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in (have travelled whole of Aus in hostels and Asia!). Room was disgustingly dirty! Staff on reception (Luke) was rude and extremely patronising throughout the whole stay! Complained about the condition of the room the response I got was the hostel was that I had to appreciate how busy so the cleaner had to...

Slow internet! way too many people on it. Everything here is very basic. Beds are not very comfortable and the place does not have any charm. Location is Okay. Right in the Melbourne CBD and that's good.

This place is awesome! Extremely friendly staff, clean, FREE luggage storage once you sign out, flexibility and trust from the staff, flexible cancellation/date adjustment, free pancake day, free pasta day and really cheap prices. You can tell when you go somewhere and the hostel is just trying to 'get by'. It is not the case here-everyone is extremely helpful and...

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. Worst experience of our lives. Dirty and un hygienic. Room was dirty and smelly, blinds were broken so let all the street light in which results in no sleep. The room has obviously not been vacuumed as floor was disgusting. The beds had dust piled up in corners and beds were taped together as were broken. The...

From the very first moment you step foot in this hostel, you can feel the love. The staff just overly friendly and want to help. Check in was smooth and rather amusing with the young fella at the check in desk. We had a private room, which consisted of just bunk beds. But towels in the room. Beds comfy. No...

Average stay, located just 10 minutes walk from the train station which is quite convenient. And may take the tram that just located one street away from the hostel. The room and bed is clean, but the shared toilet located outside the room looks like nobody cleaning it. It provides free self service breakfast, bread with spread, flakes with milk,...

Booked King St Backpackers because of its vicinity to Southern Cross Station, where the Skybus drops off, and was not disappointed. I was actually checked in early and could start sightseeing in Australia right away. Also, the night I arrived was pasta night so, dinner was taken care of. My room was incredibly comfortable, save one negative: there was no...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
