Stayed 4 nights, 3 nights too long. Reception staff uninformative and gave incorrect information. Incorrectly reserved our skybus to the airport. Room not vacuumed, Hairs left in bath ( not ours!), no milk for tea/coffee, no shampoo/conditioner left. 1 bottle of water for the whole stay for 2 people is just mean. Breakfast was a shambles. Sweaty, curled cheese that...

Clean rooms, good facilities and service as expected. Most of all, this hotel is in a great location for the price. Strangely, it also had a microwave in the rooms and really pleased to see an iron and board as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized room and big comfortable bed. Only downside is car parking - remember to use Wilsons to get a discount on car park ticket, its not too far from the hotel. Good location near restaurants and shops and trams.

Went with my sister for a little getaway, when we arrived the staff were very helpful and could not help us enough, as we were a little confused to how the tram system operated. The location of the hotel is very well placed and central to all transport cafes, restaurants, and shops. Our room was very clean, no complaints there....

This hotel is perfectly placed as a base to explore the centre of Melbourne. Everything is within walking distance. Cafes and restaurants are very close. The room was well appointed, clean and of good size (decor a little tired, but who cares at this price?) and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the extra $6...

On arrival staff were attentive to our needs, beds and pillows were comfy, no outside noises heard, laundry just down the hall, walking distance to great shops, eateries etc. The only negatives were the scratched paint on furniture which could be easily fixed by a quick paint job, no bath and not able to open windows though would prefer the...

We stayed at this hotel for one night, room 677 which was facing an office building. I had to shut the curtains because there were ppl working there on a Saturday afternoon. You can't open the window so have to rely on the air con for ventilation. The bathroom sink floods easily so had to make sure the tap was...

Bed was bad, pillow lumpy, room was dirty, shower head squirted in every direction, staff were nice but clueless, breakfast was dreadful and very expensive. The hotel manager looked like a shady character. Location was good though.

We stayed for bed and breakfast in the Causeway 353 Hotel in Melbourne for a couple of nights last month and found it very central,, in a narrow street off Collins Street,,The staff were efficient and helpful and told us where a whole street of restaurants was for our evening dinner,(although there were plans afoot for lunches and dinners to...

My partner booked a room here for a special birthday weekend and it was perfect. We looked at upgrading to a suite but in the end decided on a Cnr Room on 8th floor that gave us plenty of light from two sides and views over Lte Collins St, around the Galleria Building to the old GPO building. Our room...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
