I only booked one night in a 3 Bed Female dorm at the end of my trip. It was conveniently located to Southern Cross, so easy to get back to the airport. The bathrooms were really clean, but this Hostel is MASSIVE. I tend to stay at smaller non-chain hostel groups so it was interesting to see how this one...

The place is offers discounts to YHA members. Choice of rooms. Offers dine-in or dine out. It is conveniently located near the Central Station for train and bus. Convenient access to shops, cafes, restaurants and the Paddy's Market. Walking distance to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour and CBD. Recommended for budget travellers with ability to enjoy certain comfort.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean, staff is very friendly. Centrally positioned in the CBD with a supermarket not too far away. Public transport across the street. Downstairs is a big seating area and kitchen that have more of a coffee-bar feeling to it (which unfortunately takes the homy feeling out of it). There is a cosy rooftop terrace and activities...

the location is good! very easy access and easy to do further travel. The only thing stops me to give 5 stars is consider to other backpackers hostel, it is a little bit expensive. Well, but you pay what you got:)

Excellent YHA, clean, safe, friendly staff. Safest hostel I've stayed in. Keycards ensure only residents can enter. Rooms are locked and there are lockers in each room. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms seem newly renovated and also very clean. Staff is very helpful with organizing trips. They put on some evening entertainment which is fun and helps to...

The hostel is very central and alot of tours pick you up from here. It is a very safe hostel aswell. Luggage storage however was quite expensive. The hostel has everything to offer that you could ask for.

As Expected, YHA always hold a standard, same here in Melbourne. Clean and Spacious room, common room and staff that help with things a traveler need while checking in. A lot of amenities, and breakfast can be order for a price. Rooms were clean though basic, cozy place for lounging if needed, or just explore the surrouding with such centrally...

This hostel is a total hit and miss in every area. Staff are either friendly or very unfriendly. Cleanliness above average. Mattresses are the worst in Australia. You never feel welcome as you are unsure about how the staff are going to treat you. Very uncomfortable beds.

This was my second stay at this hostel. I like the location, as it's easy to get around and close to Southern Cross Station. I stayed in a private room with bathroom, and it's perfectly adequate for sleeping. I would recommend checking your room location, as this time I was on level 1, and the room is next to the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
