This hotel had it's pros and cons. The two bed room was nice, but dirty/splatters of paint on the windows. The bathroom extractor was absolutely terrible, it left the whole room steamy.. The air conditioner was very confusing and did not work half of the time. The word "buffet breakfast is completely misleading here. The only foods they have are...

We stayed in a cityview room (which we paid extra for), we had a view of a dirty window and a part view of the city. The room itself was nice and clean and a reasonable size. You couldn't open the window for fresh air so we had to use the air con for any kind of air circulation. Location...

Apart from having a disgustingly dirty window to view my "view" from (I paid extra for a view) the stay was fine. Nice and reasonable stay. The room was a good size and the bed was reasonable. Just a shame about paying extra for a room with a view only to have this view through a dirty window.

This hotel is not suitable for business travelers. The Internet packages are not only expensive, but they are capped at ridiculously low data caps. For $30 you get on 750MB of data, which is enough for 2 skype calls but is billed as "3 days Internet". Once you reach the data cap, the connection is throttled to such a degree...

This Hotel is close to Spencer St station and the Sky-bus terminal, as well as a number of tram services. An easy walk into the city as well. I found it clean and functional, nothing special. The room I had was a good size with a workable desk. The bathroom is small, and the one I had did have a...

We recently stayed in the city to celebrate a birthday! The staff were great and catered to all our needs. We purchased the room to include breakfast. Breakfast was very average, if you have the choice, don't purchase this extra there are some other nice close cafés for the same price and much better. The rooms were clean and we...

Location of the hotel is very good. Right opposite the hotel are central train/coach station, big supermarket, outlet shops and restaurants. A few steps away from the free City circle tram. Or 20 minutes walk to Victoria Market, city center, dockland, and casino. We stayed in 3 rooms at the rear tower. Rooms were very spacious, quiet and clean. Same...

The most interesting element of staying at Atlantis was the pun (" I had breakfast at Atlantis this morning") Average in all aspects and average to boring breakfast (same everyday and of limited variety anyways) Nice clean bathrooms, a decent small gym and a tiny lap pool; the best thing about it is that is covered and not exposed to...

Another gem i found in Melbourne. I visit Melbourne regularly for work and could not get accomodation recently. I had read some good report on tripadvisor about the Best Western so decided to give it a go. My first impressions were wow this seems like a great place. They were confirmed by nice friendly staff and immaculately clean everything. I...

Cons: The room is small and stuffy. Every time I switched on the bathroom light, the vent hummed loudly ! The cutlery was extremely dirty. When I requested for a clean cup, I was told to wash it and use ! Please put this on your website so that people start carrying their dishwasher and washing machine when they arrive!...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
