Firstly the positive, excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant Louden was ok for buffet breakfast which was included in our price. Our room was a king suite and other than the size that's about all that was good. The rooms are so outdated & in desperate need of repair. The hotel is very sad and the hallways need...

Fantastic location. Ideal for restaurants, shopping and transport. Room was a good size for 3 people. Bathroom was a good size. The sliding bathroom door was a bit frustrating and lacked privacy. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The lifts were a pain; slow, squeaky and small. Need to be improved. A good hotel and would stay again.

Just stayed 2 nights here with my mum, very enjoyable, room big enough for both of us with 2 double beds, very clean and nice view over looking corner of Swanson st and the mall. No outside noise at all which surprised me. Location is excellent with shopping right at the doorstep of the hotel. Breakfast was ok but not...

While being a bit dated the affordability and amazing location made this a great place to stay. The excellent pricing meant we could afford two rooms for the family (which is often unaffordable in cities) and with the Boxing Day sales right outside the door we had an enjoyable and busy stay. Great, friendly and helpful staff just made our...

I was spoilt by being in a suite on the 13th floor. The bedroom was lovely and the large living area made the 2 night stay really enjoyable. The bathroom and amenities were good too. However what made this stay the best hotel experience I have had in a long time was the staff. The reception staff were friendly and...

We stayed in a superior king room. At first glance the room was very nice, lovely and spacious, but I was disappointed to notice cracks in the walls, enamel coming off the bath and the shower screen leaked causing water to puddle all over the floor. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in, the location was great,...

It been the 4th years our family stay in this hotel. Helpful and friendly front desk and thank to Housekeeping making the room comfort and clean for our 18 days. Very good location too. Will back again in 2017.

We had a medical appointment in the city and booked this hotel with two kids for one night. My first impression when walking into the reception was already disappointing. The staff are very friendly and I cannot fault customer service, however our room was definitely not 4 star and it does lead to the question of how do ratings in Australia...

We chose this hotel for the location, walking distance to everywhere and a tram stop right out the front. We walked around the corner to Bourke St Mall, walked a few blocks to the Queen Victoria Markets and even walked home from Lygon street after a delicious dinner. Chinatown is around the corner, definitely recommend a bite to eat there....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
