Ideal location for shopping. I paid for superior 2 bed apartment, we had to change rooms due to air conditioning not working. The only room available was a standard 2 bed. No credit was ever mentioned.

BreakFree is right in the CBD and close to ... well pretty much everything. We travelled as a group of 4 and the 2 bedroom balcony apartment was perfect for us! Excellent location and great value. The rooms could have been a little cleaner and the service a little more switched on, but these were tiny tiny issues that did...

We stayed there for a one night trip to Mebourne to see Adele, and apart from the geographic location, this place was awful. Next time will spend the money for cleanliness and a good nights sleep somewhere else!

Booked for a long weekend stay with friends. i have stayed at the same location in the past so knew what to expect. Reception staff were helpful. The requirement to scan to your floor is a good security measure.

The location is fantastic. There is a tram stop at the front door and the apartments are within walking distance to shopping centres, theatres and Southbank. Our apartment was spacious and check in/out very quick and easy. Car parking is close. The upgrade to a balcony apartment was a highlight. Will definitely stay again.

My 2 kids aged 4 and 5 years old love this accommodation with a big bathtub and nice comfortable beds, sofa and chairs, so much so that they rather stay in the hotel than to go out and visit Melbourne. I love the washing machine and dryer in the room. Better than other 5 star hotels that we have stayed...

The location is brilliant easy access to everything. Decor and visual appearance a little tired. Linen in rooms excellent. Staff on reception excellent. Washing machine/drier combination hard to work out and did not dry our clothes. Would stay here again as its location is the best and fantastic value for money.

We booked this hotel online with booking.com.The images looked reasonable and the rate was also reasonable. Collins St is very central for a range of purposes. When we finally managed to locate the hotel intercom outside the building when were able to enter the building. We needed to go to 6th floor to get to Reception. The carpet in the lift...

Having 2 trips a year to Melbourne, I have always stayed at this property, the staff are excellent and were a great help to me when I needed it. BUT, everything externally is starting to look a bit old and could do with a fresh coat of paint and new carpets.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
