This is one of the best places I've stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and have a great view over Melbourne CBD, the restaurant and bars are fantastic and it has one of the best gyms I've seen in a hotel. The service is amazing and faultless and the overall feel of the place is great. On top of all...

There is no doubt the Grand Hyatt is a fabulous place to stay, but we were quite conflicted as our stay was hampered by so much noise. We had three nights, and the lack of decent sleep was detracting from our break by our last night. What we loved: - the birthday bottle of sparkling - the fabulous view from...

We stayed on the 19th floor and the view was fabulous! The room is well designed, I particularly like the couch and table set up near the window. The bed was extremely comfortable. The marble bathroom was very nice. In short the room felt 5* and was impressive. The service and some of the food however let them down. Our...

It has been a while since I’ve stayed at this property and good things have happened since the renovation! The hotel is slick and very well appointed – the staff are on pointe, atmosphere classy and surroundings refined yet relaxed. The king bed is so comfy and though the rollaway bed did cramp the mini-bar up a little there was...

Stayed here two nights and found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice but pricey for what you get. The bar had a great selection of wines/drinks and snacks. The lift was my issue - I travel a lot and I have never seen such slow lifts where queues develop. This needs to be fixed pronto. Has...

Extremely impressed with our two night weekend stay at the grand Hyatt melbourne. My boyfriend and I stayed for our anniversary, and he called to organize flowers, and apparently staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. When checking in, the said that we had been upgraded to a King Deluxe room which was a nice surprise, and when we...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
