We just got back from three nights in Melbourne and wish we'd gone years ago. The city is fabulous with so much happening. Our trip was a pre-chemotherapy splurge so we wanted a luxurious base to pop in and out of. The Grand Hyatt was perfect for that as it is a short walk from the free circle tram and...

Great location, few steps to Melbourne CBD and beautiful Yarra river. Room condition is great. Rate is reasonable, compare to most of service apartment in CBD, stay in grand Hyatt is really worth it. Overall experience was excellent! I really enjoy my stay in Grand Hyatt in Melbourne and looking forward to visit it again!!

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. My room was gorgeous. Everything was thought about to make your stay perfect. I really liked the menu card which listed things you could take with you and things you could borrow whilst on your stay. The staff were amazing at breakfast. They were able to meet my specific breakfast request in a...

No, really. Beware. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the walls are paper thin. Not only can I hear the baby crying upstairs, but the parent that is trying to calm the baby down sounds like a slight rumble with every step. Though I'm sure they were simply pacing around. You can also hear when your neighbor (from all directions)...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
