We visit Melbourne a few times a year and our usual hotel was booked out hence staying at Grant Hyatt. Lobby is nice. Room was spacious, toiletries were good and the room view was beautiful but that's where it ends. Definitely not worth the $665 per night. When I arrived in our room there was luggage in our room which...

This hotel location is very good and it is pleasant walk to the China Town, David Jones and eateries and nice boutiques surrounded the hotel. We stayed on the Club floor this time and found that it is well worth the little extra. Although the breakfast offering on the Club lounge is not great but the afternoon cocktail is fantastic....

Fabulous location in Collins Street and a great hotel. The team are very good and the gym is superb - try out some of their classes. Good for business and for leisure. Can be out of your price range when there are major events otherwise very good value for money

Fantastic location for shopping, great health club and food. Rooms were super loud thou so dont expect a sleep in. Can hear everything through the super thin walls, shower running woke us up everyday.

Great location nice facilities but starting to date. Rooms are small and neat but soft furnishings were tired. Always seem to be an issue to get a board room the previous booking was moved to Crown as there was not a room for 15 people available.

I stayed at the hotel as part of a conference. The quality of the fittings and rooms was very high, as expected. The room was peaceful and comfortable. The conference facilities and staff assistance for presenters were excellent. What was exceptional was the level of customer service received from Dave the concierge. I was taken ill after the first day...

Awful bar manager. Didn't even want to give me his name. Apparently VC. Young, inexperienced and shouldn't have been given this job in the first place. Check in was bad also. They used my wrong credit card despite assuring me that they will use the correct one

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
