Lovely old building with all the modern conveniences. Small bar and lobby with fireplace and beautiful old billiard table. Staff and service excellent. All the eateries of Flinders Lane at your doorstep. Our room was an excellent size with lovely high ceilings, lacked only any sort of view and a little limited in natural light. Good sleep quality. No decent...

Dear semiretired56, Thank you for choosing to stay at Hotel Lindrum. I am glad you found the staff and service to be excellent and appreciated the original Alcock’s billiard table. On your next trip be sure to try one of our Deluxe rooms with large arched windows overlooking flinders street towards Rod Laver and the botanical gardens. We hope to...

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, room was dark and surrounds were quiet, so a wonderful night's sleep. Very close to mcg and rod laver and trams right out front. Breakfast buffet was a nice light option. The evening mulled wine tasting was also a nice touch.

Dear Loretta C, Thank you for spending time with us at Hotel Lindrum. I appreciate your positive feedback from the complimentary mulled wine and canapé tasting last week. I stayed recently for two nights at the Lindrum and really enjoyed the experience. From check in to check out the staff were amazing and I really felt that I was in a five start establishment. Well located to most of Melbourne's attractions, the Lindrum is a great example of how old can be made new again. On day one...

First stayed here when it morphed into this great boutique hotel and it continues to be a great hotel. Check in and check out is quick and efficient. The rooms are well laid out and love the rain shower. Love the premium T2 tea bags and big cups. Tram noise can be an issue as is the early morning garbage...

We have been staying here for a few years now and have never been disappointed. This used to be the iconic Lindrums multi storey billiard parlor which I am sure, any person of my vintage and living in Melbourne at the time, circa 2000, knew of its existence. Ten minute walk to the MCG or 20 to Etihad for all...

What a wonderful boutique hotel in a great location! The bed was one of the best I have experienced in any hotel. The bar with the snooker table and the Lindrum touches is a great touch. The only down side was the noise from the street early in the morning.

Dear Trish H, Thank you for sharing your positive review of Hotel Lindrum. I am glad that our cloud-like M Gallery pillow top bed made such an impression. Spent 5 nights at the Lindrum at the end of a two week stay in Melbourne for the Australian open. Loved everything. Friendly staff, warm and cosy room and general interiors, extra comfortable bed and lots of little touches ... like delicious apples on the reception counter that you could grab on your way to the tennis ... some days...

Dear Gayle M, Thank you for spending 5 nights with us over the always enjoyable Australian Open. I hope the chefs home made slice provided some energy for the long days at the nearby Rod Laver Arena. Great hotel in a great city location. Highlights - the lounge bar, the beds , the shower. After numerous stays in different rooms can only add that the front rooms get some tram noise in the early morning during the week so if you are planning a sleep in request another room.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Friendly staff, quick check in and out. Lovely room - clean and stylish with great facilities. Quick stroll into Chinatown for a dumplings fix. I'd highly recommend this hotel. Can be quite pricey, so look out for specials.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
