Stayed overnight in the city to go to a show. Good location to walk to show in Exhibition Street. Much more expensive than when we normally stay at this hotel but we were unaware at the time of booking that it was White Night festivities in the city. Upgraded to a suite which was unexpected. Even though at the time...

Room was very spacious, 2 double beds and still plenty of room to move around. Bathroom a little bit small, but had everything you needed. View from 11th floor window of the gardens was really lovely. Staff were always friendly, polite and helpful. We were attending a show at the Princess Theatre, so the location was great - I think...

Excellent facilities and easy to get to. Parking is a breeze. I wanted to use a Gym, but unfortunately they do not have one, but i was directed to the Pulman on the Park just up the road and was able to use their facilities! Great Stuff!

Located at the Flinders St end of Spring St and overlooking Treasury Gardens, the Mercure is well situated. Close to public transport, the business centre - and, as others have noted, entertainment venues. The gardens themselves are great for a run in the morning. I didn't need much in the way of service but the reception was efficient and friendly....

Very good location, alongside line 35 or walking distance from the city center. Large rooms, very quiet at the back of the hotel. Excellent sleep quality during 3 nights and a more than decent breakfast.

The staff were very attentive, for example warned us of taxi strike via note under the door, and friendly; bed was comfortable and the room clean. But you could not walk around the end of the bed without tripping on the chair in a very narrow space. You could not see in the bathroom mirror as the light was so...

Stayed for overnight to at the Boss concert. VG and friendly service. King size bed was a bonus. Close walking distance to AAMI park, tennis centre, MCG etc. Far enough back from flinders street not to hear the road and train noise. Good value. Would definitely stay again

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
