We stayed for five nights recently and found the location quite handy with many eateries within walking distance (despite the rain!) and a regular tram service virtually outside in Flinders St. Ours was just a regular hotel room so, as expected, not spacious but the bathroom was particularly poky and had a raft of design faults. Whilst modern and clean,...

We enjoyed our stay and getting to the galleries and docklands is so easy on the City Circle tram which stops just near the hotel. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and were stunned that there were no shelves or drawers to unpack our case so we hung clothes and then had to use our case as storage. Also...

Great service, the staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. All requests for assistance or advice were met with a genuine desire to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Surprisingly quiet rooms, wouldn’t know the trams were running. PS. keep your barista on tap, he knows his coffee and is very obliging.

This hotel is well placed for MCG, AAMI park and Rod Laver arena. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Meals were good and service quick and efficient. Internet needs attention. Need wifi in rooms to make the complete experience.

Stayed with the family (2 Adults, 2 Children) on a Friday night. Good location opposite the Treasury gardens, close to the theatre and top end restaurants. It was about a 10 min walk through the gardens to the MCG for us on the Saturday. Check in was quick and easy. Rooms are modern and beds & linen very comfortable. The...

My partner and I recently stayed at MMTG as we were in town for a sporting event. Great location, close to restaurants, public transport and a nice walk to the stadiums. The hotel car park is TINY! Luckily I have a small car, but I would be nervous to park anything bigger. They also charge $30 per night. The first...

The room decor was appealing and the bed was really comfortable. It was nice and quiet which was great for sleeping. The tv did not work though and there was no hair dryer in the room. We didn't have time to have the tv fixed and I had to leave with wet hair which is not a good look. The...

I was glad to read that you enjoyed the bed, location and decor of the guest rooms, thank you for your feedback. With reference to the TV, I am sorry that you had problems. I can confirm that there is a hairdryer in every room located in the drawer or wardrobe, dependent upon the layout of the room. Please feel...

Our stay at the Hotel was excellent, the service was fantastic and I really like the fact that children under 16 stay free when with adults as not many other hotels offer this (it is usually 12 and under). Location was good especially if going to the footy at MCG or an event at Rod Laver Arena. Will definitely stay...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
