We stayed 2 nights - primary reason to visit Melbourne was to go to the football at the MCG. The staff were friendly; the room was clean and well appointed except the bathroom was minim size. We had no problems with our air conditioner which was not noisy. The breakfasts were good and had lots of variety of food -...

The reception area is nice, has a lovely aroma when you walk in and relaxing music. The staff are all very friendly and gave us a late checkout. We stayed on the 22nd floor and paid more than $300 for one night because it was Grand Prix weekend. The room was a little disappointing given the price because the air...

Stayed for 2 nights and will not be rushing back. Hotel reception chic and modern, staff on the desk friendly and informative but that is where the good comments cease. Room out dated and looked old. Noisy air conditioning unit and really struggled to work. TV tiny and in an awkward position (position could be easily fixed with movable arm)....

The rooms here are a little dated in their bathrooms and layout but the staff are nice, the rooms are reasonably priced for the size and location the restaurant and its staff are amazing. Only thing is that they are less flexible with the way they do things over other hotels in the Rydges network such as they wanted to...

I was really impressed on this recent visit. Rydges have really upped their game. Staff are so pleasant and helpful. Join their rewards club. So worth it. We had an upgrade to a bigger room. I was with my daughter and her friend to see Justin Bieber. The girls loved it. The bath robes, the rooftop pool, the buffet breakfast....

I only stayed for one night, as I was attending the Adele concert and the hotel is near work. Check in was easy, with online check in meaning I could select various things I required (such as a room away from the elevator) - I like being able to do that. Friendly efficient staff, comfy bed and a clean, well...

I have been staying here for 17 years as it is close to theatres, city centre, public transport - everything I need. The food is good, beds are comfortable and the view of the city spectacular. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Location of the hotel was perfect, close to entertainment, food and shopping! And it was the extra attention to detail that staff paid to the special requests on our booking si what will have us coming back.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
