... well ... if you are 4-6 travelers and are looking for the perfect alternative to a “normal” hotel accommodation, this is *the* perfect location to be booked.
The privately owned apartments are for rental like hotel rooms, under the vigilant and very professional eyes of the Accor (hotel) chain. There is a 24/7 concierge desk located at the main entrance of the building, with super friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable staff, able to tell you everything you need to know. We booked the apartment including breakfast, which was a perfect decision, as the buffet was really outstanding with a lot of fresh fruits, special juices and so on. The apartment comes with hotel services, which means that beds are made, the rooms cleaned and you will get fresh towels if needed. The kitchen us fully equipped (in the penthouse even with a Nespresso coffee machine), with a dish washer, plus you will certainly also love the washing machine and tumbler located in the apartment for your clothes. The view from the balcony will certainly leave you speachless!!!
The location is just perfect: when you exit the building, you end up on the fantastic promenade with all the restaurants, and the river cruises also start just outside of the building. To go downtown you will just have to walk over the bridge, and you will be in the shopping area, very close to the amazing graffity street as well as one of the tram stops, which can be used free of charge within the city limits, including the tourist tram making a tour of the city. So - don’t hesitate to book this great place!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment for 3 nights. We arrived well ahead of check in time, but they allowed us to park our car, and they said they'd call us when our room was ready. We never hold out much hope that hotels will actually follow through on this promise, but we were pleasantly surprised when they called to let us know our room was ready! I later witnessed a person on reception take a call from some guests that were going to arrive early, and then the receptionist call through to housekeeping to make their room a priority. I was very impressed! We found all staff to be very friendly, helpful, and professional. We were also impressed that they were following Covid rules which required guests to book time slots for the pool and gym. This meant that there tended to only be 2 families in the pool area which kept it very civilised (we recently stayed at Crown Towers where the pool seemed overcrowded with families throwing frisbees across the pool, and dive-bombing into the pool making for a very unpleasant experience!).
The room was MASSIVE!! A very large, open kitchen/dining/living area with sensational view across the Yarra and city. Each of our 3 bedrooms had King sized beds, and there were 2 bathrooms. The biggest downside of the room was that the bathrooms needed a few more lights plus an exhaust fan. We also found it strange that in all of the cupboard space (and there was a LOT!), there wasn't any shelves or drawers (the only drawers were in the bedside tables). The room was clean overall, but it was evident under the lounge and kitchen bench, and on the kitchen drawers and cupboard doors, that it needed a really thorough clean. Soundproofing in the building was excellent, as we didn't hear noise from other guests. Other reviews have said the rooms are dated, and we did find them to be a little dated, but nothing that would put us off staying again. The location, size of room, and service we received would have us happily stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a family, business, or friends getaway in Melbourne city.

I stayed over the Australia Day weekend and although a little on the expensive side (due to public holiday & the Australian Tennis Open) it is in the perfect location and the apartment/suites have everything you need. I put my flight details on my booking and the staff took note of this and were ready for our arrival, even noting that 'i saw your flight arrive early'. We stayed in a One Bedroom suite, my parents taking the main bedroom and myself on the pullout sofa bed. The Bed, shower and kitchen were fantastic. I loved how there was 2 Tv's as well. I would definately consider staying at Quay West again, mostly because it is located in Southbank (away from the busy streets of Melbourne) and it is still within walking distance of everything (we walked to Rod Laver Arena, Government House, The Crown Casino and into Bourke St Mall). Staff were lovely, the Breakfast was fresh & tasty, and the One bedroom Suite was spacious. Perfect for 3 people.

We stayed here for four nights after a direct flight from e Uk. So suffering from jet lag we were too zonked to move hotels but we would not recommend this accommodation. The staff were superb. The bathroom was good and the kitchenette very well equipped. But the bed was a small double even though the bedroom was a good size. The problem was the noise. A guy playing drums on nearby Flinders bridge. Music blaring out from a floating restaurant across the river. A dual carriageway running very close with traffic all night. Our bedroom was over the main entrance which also provided access to the Southgate shopping and bar areas, so delivery vans beeped as they reversed through the night. Then the bin men arrived at 4 am and the smell of their empty bins wafted up to our room. We had shut the windows but the window catches were mostly broken and with single glazing the din outside could not be held back. An Australian we later met said they would never stay in this area given its fame for the noisiest part of Melbourne. Smoke also wafted into our rooms from neighbouring apartments. Half the building is a hotel and half are privately owned.

We spent 8 nights at Quay West Suites and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Melbourne experience.
We had a city view room on the 8th floor with a balcony, and the view was amazing. It was incredibly easy to walk anywhere we wanted to go, from the CBD to the botanical gardens. We even walked to South Yarra and Fitzroy.
I had a hard time choosing a hotel in Melbourne from afar, but after exploring the city I am sure this is the very best option. The only other hotel we’d consider would be the Langham (right next door). If you are very nitpicky, you may notice some wear and tear on the rooms, but that is a minor negative compared to the huge positives of staying here. The housekeeping staff went above and beyond, the breakfast staff was welcoming and helpful and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. If there’s anything you are particular about, just contact them ahead of time and I’m sure they’ll do what they can to make you happy.
One other thing to note: we did hear street noise until 1am most nights. We are from NYC so it didn’t bother us, but if you are a light sleeper or not used to cities I’d recommend choosing a room on a higher floor. The street noise would likely be the same anywhere you stay, so I wouldn’t let that dissuade you from booking here, just good to be aware of.
I really can’t believe our luck with picking Quay West Suites for our week in Melbourne. We hated checking out! We’ll definitely be back next time.

We found staying in Southbank, next to Hamer Hall on the Yarra a great vibrant, and central location. It is an easy walk to Crown Casino. The Quay suites are the equivalent to a 5 star city hotel, but with more facilities and at a much less price. The rooms are very spacious, with a balcony, and a kitchen for self catering, dishwasher, full stove and fridge. We had breakfast included in our package. We were not disappointed with the full breakfast each morning. We stayed two nights, with room service included. The King size bed was very comfortably, with all the extras a hotel offer, including a mini bar.
We would definitely come back to Quay West Suites next time we want a weekend getaway in Melbourne.

We have stayed at Quay West Suites numerous times over many years and have always enjoyed the location and the spacious suites overlooking the Yarra River.
This time we were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a 3 bedroom suite on the residential side of the hotel. The apartment was enormous especially the kitchen.
Overall- fabulous location in Southbank overlooking the Yarra River with everything at your fingertips. It’s a five minute walk across the river into town.
The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Thank you for the upgrade we appreciated it.

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the location excellent as it is close to public transport, shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The room was very nice and modern, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The only issue we had was the refrigerator made a terrible noise frequently and didnt actually chill or freeze anything (room 1114) but apart from that the apartment was very comfortable. We made use of the pool and gym which were clean and easily accessible. The staff were all very friendly and professional yet welcoming. The only issue we had was with the restaurant, we attempted 3 times to get seating for breakfast and you could just tell it was poorly managed. The staff were run off their feet and the tiny dining room barely catered for the number of guests wanting to dine with a very limited selection of meals. I also received a free drink voucher as part of my Accor membership but could never use it as the restaurant was always full.
Overall a really nice property, couldn't fault it and with improvements with the restaurant I would easily recommend others to stay here.

Being a five star hotel, having booked directly through hotel to make the most out of stay, celebrating anniversary and New Year’s Eve, paying an extraordinary amount for a four night stay... there were a few disappointments. The worst by far was the pull out sofa my son used. One of the back cushions was not attached properly and was a safety hazard as there were staples and sharp edges and a hole into the couch. I took photos! There were sultanas (presumably from last guests) that we found when we pulled bed out, gross!
The toilet ran when flushed at times, annoying. Broken latch on window, marked walls, burnt out light bulbs, and a beeping smoke alarm (was fixed but was left without it overnight- not sure of safety policy)— when I booked and paid for this holiday I wasn’t expecting such issues from a “five star” hotel. While we enjoyed the pool, the kitchen amenities, the balcony, I’m not sure if it’s enough to make us come back, which is unfortunate because we holiday to Melbourne often and were hoping to expand our hotel bookings. I do have to say- we did enjoy breakfast, my six year old especially loved the croissants, and the staff were amazing, even on the mornings they were so busy and running like crazy, they were all lovely and helpful.

We just had a 3 night stay here in a 1 bedroom superior suite city view room. We’ve travelled to Melbourne over a dozen times and generally choose different places to stay each time however this place was so awesome for service, room quality and location we will be back. Our room was on the 9th floor with a balcony and nice river and city view. The hotel is just set back enough from Southbank promenade that it is surprisingly very quiet and we were there on a Friday and Saturday night, a very short walk to restaurants, casino and the sporting precinct just a 20 minute walk away. The service from the front reception staff was fantastic, everyone we encountered was super friendly and happy for a chat they really made our visit special. The indoor pool and spa looked awesome although unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to use. Daily breakfast had a good range, especially loved the smashed avo option and getting a barista coffee made all included. Cleaning staff also did a great job, room quality very good although probably could ditch the very wobbly bedside lamps that just take up room and have had their use by date.
