The location is central to the main shopping hub and access to restaurants is close and the variety huge. The serviced apartments were of a high standard and beds extremely comfortable. It was value for money and we would stay again.

Stayed at Somerset on Elizabeth on the weekend of the 24th-26th of June when we went to the footy at the MCG. Its location is superb for shopping , eating, transport and of course footy at the G. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with another couple and found that there was more than enough room so we could...

First of all, we were looking for a place to stay right in Melbourne CBD where we can walk every where or hop on the tram as we are in the Free Tram Zone. Walk out of Somerset and turn right and you're at Melbourne Central, turn left and you can walk right into Emporium and H&M is up the...

Location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. Staff are awesome, helpful and very welcoming. Room was spacious with a separate bedroom and bed was comfy (ask for a mattress topper). Nice couch and separate chair as well as table and chairs and free wi fi. Great play to stay in Melbourne. Go there soon!

We stayed at Somerset on Elizabeth on the advice of our daughter who lives in the CBG. It was great fun to be in the center of everything. Our apartment was very comfortable, clean and quiet. We had requested a quiet room, and being on the 10th floor in the back of the building we had a quiet room with...

I had initially thought it was a pity to not have a whole apartment to my group of friends through another room-renting website. However Somerset on Elizabeth has exceeded expectations of a serviced apartment and made the stay as homely and comfortable as possible. We have referred to residence as a "home" instead of a "hotel" while we were with...

We booked in here for a few nights in Melbourne. Having stayed in various parts of the city already we decided to go a little central to feel the buzz. That buzz came early on morning when the fire alarm was activated and sleep was disturbed. The problem with these style of apartment hotels is that others live in parts...

The location was ideal, in the heart of Melbourne, very close to shopping and eateries. But the 2 bedroom apartment looked a little run down... not what you expect from a 4-star property. We were celebrating our daughters 15th birthday with a night in the city so was hoping for something a little more special.

Dear Ravinder S, Thank you for sharing your feedback and highlighting our great location; it is certainly one of the best in Melbourne! I am very sorry though that you were disappointed with our apartments. May I suggest you try our sister property Citadines on Bourke next time? It is more vibrant and the decor might be more to your...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
