This place is good to stay, just right around the corner from the noise of city center. Hygiene standards were good, there was no queue for using toilets in the morning and their lockers were big enough to accommodate a big airplane bag. They have a big common kitchen and offer washing machine and iron for clothes. There was no...

We ended up staying at this backpackers for nearly three weeks. We stayed in dorm rooms but each bed had an element of privacy to it. You each got a really big locker, shelf, socket and light. Also bathrooms were private and clean. The kitchen and laundry were also both lovely. Location was good, very near. Carlton gardens. I really...

A big hostel in the CBD area of Melbourne. They cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen several times per day which was very nice and overall they keept the place nice and tidy. A spa pool on the roof top together with some sunbeds where you could hang out and relax. Bar and restaurant next to the lobby. Lots of activities...

My boyfriend and I chose to stay here after a friend recommended it. Although it's a hostel the rooms look more like hotel rooms, very clean and modern. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. The bedroom was nice and quite spacious. The bathrooms were fine and we never had to wait to find an available shower. The...

Well located at the edge of the city so be prepared to walk or catch the trams which are free in the CBD area. I like it because it adjourns some open space and is close to Carlton . Rooms are standard

We spent 2 nights in Melbourne in the Space Hostel / Hotel. Rooms are small and most of them don´t have a private bath room. But you get what you pay for. We where satisfied for the money we paid. One of the cheapest places to stay in Melbourne!

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review, always great to hear guest feedback, if you stay with us again you may want to consider our executive Queen rooms, these rooms are a lot more spacious and have a wonderful view of the city. Kind Regards

The hostel rooms were clean, I'll give it that, but it stops about there. The kitchen and common areas were usually pretty overrun and even though the room prices are not too expensive, they overcharge you for everything else (e.g. wifi in your room, laundry, etc.). Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Hello Michael, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with all aspects of your stay. The price for the laundry machines is actually in keeping with the standard price charged by launderettes in Melbourne, we also offer a free WiFi connection on the ground floor for those...

I stayed in a single with shared bathroom and was quite happy. I was on a higher floor with an excellent view of downtown Melbourne. Good location not far from mass transit. Bed was comfortable, especially for what is actually a hostel. Service was fast and efficient.

This hotel is exceptionally clean, staff are friendly and have a good welcoming attitude. This Hostel offers breathtaking views from the roof top terrace, which alone is worth the stay! Only downside is wifi is expensive but still totally worth the stay here. The rooms were really clean and had a good layout.

I'm sure my stay was not representative of the hotel/ hostel as a whole and I will add that it seemed quite clean and safe and secure for solo travellers. However, I arrived very late from Sydney last night and went up to my room only to find that the only bed available had no bedding at all. exhausted, I...

Suzie, I am sorry about your negative experience at our hotel. Bedding for for dorm beds is located in the locker next to each bed. I sincerely apologies if this was not explained to you at the time check-in. Please send us an email with your contact details so that we may attempt to rectify this unfortunate situation.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
