We have just returned from 5 nights at the Treasury on Collins. We always travel to Melbourne in January to see the Australian Open tennis. Our normal hotel was unavailable as it is still being used by the Government as a Covid quarantine hotel. The Treasury ticked all the boxes for us. The location was great. It was a half hour walk to the Tennis which we found very pleasant. There were plenty of reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was at the back of the building and was quiet, which is always a high priority for us. We stayed in a Heritage King suite. The room was a great size with plenty of cupboards and drawers to store everything. It had a relaxed, homely feeling. If you are looking for all the mod cons, then perhaps this is not the hotel for you. The toilet seat does not spring open as you walk into the bathroom and the curtains do not open and close with the press of a button. Sometimes we have great difficulty working the TV and the air-conditioning and even turning on the shower. At The Treasury there were no such problems! The service was perfect. Everyone that we came in contact with was so helpful and friendly. There is definitely a feeling that this is a family owned and operated hotel and they take great pride in their hotel. We loved the early evening drinks and appreciated the free coffee and snacks throughout the day. Sandy in the breakfast room welcomed us like old friends each morning. The breakfast area was been continually cleaned down which gave us confidence during this latest Covid outbreak. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Hotel's Favourite
It's slightly embarrassing to rave so much about a hotel stay but this was hands-down one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. I'll be recommending Treasury on Collins to everyone I can. Nothing was too hard for the amazing staff - John, Carlos and Nikki to name a few, who were very friendly and attentive. They bent over backwards to ensure our stay was as wonderful as possible. We received a room upgrade, which was incredibly well-appointed and very spacious. It even included a kitchenette and washer-dryer amenities if you needed them. The complimentary breakfast was a very pleasant surprise, along with the complimentary wines in the lounge from 4-6pm.... all enjoyed within such a beautiful, historic building. For those thinking of simply booking with the bigger hotel chains, you'd be doing yourselves a disservice if you overlook this boutique hidden gem in the heart of the city. My sole complaint is that our stay wasn't long enough!

Great location in the centre of the CBD. Rooms are large for a hotel and very comfortable. The staff are fantastic and really look after you. Inclusions like breakfast and free drinks between 4pm and 6pm are a great value add..
