First up, easy to get to. Fly into Melbourne (Tullamarine), get the Skybus to Southern Cross Station, and then it a 20-30 minute walk to this hotel. (Or you can get the free shuttle bus from the station). Once at the hotel ... well, there's just a door way onto the footpath, so it's easy to walk straight past! Once...

I was here with my 2 friend and we had quite big room for 3 of us. Clean and easy access as its right infront the tram station and you can just walk to the nearby attractions. No parking access but just ask the staff they will be more than happy to help u advise the parking area. Kudos to...

Initially when I saw the entrance to the hotel, I was a little weary of what I might find, being a 'budget' hotel. But after I'd dropped off my luggage & explored the area, I knew I'd made a good choice. This hotel is in a superb location as far as trains, trams, shops & Southgate. AND there is a...

This is definitely a budget hotel, but the best one I have ever stayed in. Basic, clean rooms, but lacking some essential items such as a bath mat and a second bedside cabinet. The staff were AMAZING!! Could not have been more helpful, especially Gill. Thanks guys for accommodating us for 8 days and making these two Kiwi's very happy....

Excellent stay at the ibis budget. Room was perfect for a couple and neat and tidy. Great location with a tram stop right out front. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Gil. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone making a visit to Melbourne.

Fantastic location and value for money. Great bed, big TV, very comfortable. Room otherwise very plain but for the cheapest room rate around I didn't mind that at all. Very clean, daily towel change. Friendly helpful service. Very happy.

Staff's commendable; very pleasant and would do that extra mile, in spite of charging relatively less than bigger hotels. Upon arrival, Vicky familiarized us on the area and was told further of the ongoings for that week, the best way to get where, and the timings too, as there are sites that would be closed during the holidays and on...

To have different food variety for breadfast meal would be much better. If bed sheet can change in every 2 days instead of 3 days is most welcome. There is no safe box to keep important documents in the room.

This hotel represents tremendous value for money. I normally stay in far more expensive accommodation but was very impressed by the exceptionally friendly helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable with quality bedding and very clean and functional. Location unbeatable with every amenity to hand, including taxi rank across the road.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
