The pros: It's in a great spot, close to restaurants, shops and CAT bus services. You can park your car on site if need be. The washer and dryer provided were new and worked well. The pool was lovely and clean and the gym had adequate equipment (although not enough alcohol wipes etc. to clean after). The staff were all very friendly before and during our stay. The price is fair for what you get (worked out to about $100pn per couple).
The cons: Make no mistake, this place is in need of an upgrade. The bathrooms were old and looked a bit grubby and could do with a good scrub. The ensuite bathroom in bedroom one had a handheld shower in a bath with nowhere to hang it, inconvenient and could be dangerous stepping into and out of a bath for less mobile/older people. The second bathroom/laundry was located in bedroom three, meaning bedroom two occupants had to walk through bedroom three to get to the shower/toilet. Luckily we stayed with close friends so this wasn't an issue for us but it could be if you were less friendly with your housemates! There was no hanging space in bedroom three and nowhere to store suitcases so we felt like we were living in an obstacle course. There were only five chairs for the dining table, some of the crockery had only five pieces, the fridge wasn't very cold so our milk went off within a couple of days. No pan for dustbrush. You could hear noise from above and below with doors closing and people walking around. The place has the feel of a privately owned apartment that is rented out as an investment and the owners clearly don't want to spend any money on it. As per the title of this review, it was very reasonably priced and well located so if you are looking for a little luxury then perhaps pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.
The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. We used the car park which was $10 for the night but is secure. We didnt use the pool can't comment on that.
All in all this is great for groups to stay together close to city centre for a budget stay.
Honestly I think this is how they make their money because there is no way you would stay here if you had a choice, once you see the place. Also the pool isn't in the building as advertised its across a car park in another building that residents live in!!!
Upon questioning the state of the room, was advised that nothing could be done and no one could comment as it was a public holiday. Decided to pack up and leave to a different hotel.
Gave it two days and contacted the established. Was advised that room was non-refundable, they were happy to view the photos I took, but would probably not do anything about it.
Don’t waste your money like I did. After viewing it, would not pay half of what they ask.
You can do better than this place.
