Booking a room sharing a bathroom with two showers was ok for the location wifi was very slow but could walk to the mall and use Perth free wifi, the lift down to the shared kitchen which has shared fridges, expect to battle for space on the stoves at certain times.

FLEE THIS PLACE !! This hotel is anything except a youth hostel. Boring as hell, no backpackers in it while on their website they say they are a hotel for backpackers, the wifi doesn't work, the pictures of are not at all like the reality; the sofas inside and outside are all torn and dirty, the sofas in the large common room downstairs act as a bed for most people. And the most scandalous thing is that the hotel is infested with BED BUGS !! First of all, when we arrived on November 16th, we learned that, unfortunately, due to the number of people in the hotel, we were obliged to change rooms during our stay. Unless I'm mistaken, this information is not written on your website at the time of booking, so the least you can do is to ask if this change is a problem for the client.... After talking to some people I learned that bed fleas are present in the hotel. I go directly to the reception to ask that they don't change my room but they guarantee me that the whole hotel has been "professionally treated" and that I have nothing to worry about. So when I changed rooms, I didn't worry that there might be some in that room because of what I had been told. But to my surprise, one night when I went to bed, there was a bed bug walking around on the bed! The next morning, once the hotel staff knew about it, I had to change rooms again (former room infested with bed bugs that the two French brothers had been victims of) as soon as possible. Once back in my new room I lay down on the bed and against the wall I see again a bed bug! In the morning, all they could tell me was that I had to leave the room and the hotel the next day, because there was supposedly no more room "available" even though I had booked for more than a week. So in less than 24 hours, I had to find a new hotel in emergency despite my work. This hotel lacks professionalism like I have never seen before. Finally, no one freaks out about bed fleas, the manager only changes people in their rooms which spreads the bed fleas throughout the hotel.

We booked a private twin room for our 2 night stay. Car park is provided if you've book. It does cost extra. Room itself was clean and tidy, swipe card to get in. Safe inside the room didn't work We had a small TV and a double bed. Hallway echoes, however the floor We were on people were respectful and kept the noise down at night. Unfortunately we weren't told where anything was when we checked in I.e kitchen area, lounge area laundry (if they had one) etc Recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay

Enjoyed my stay in the Kangaroo Inn. Booked an early bird deal + a mystery room, making it a very affordable place to stay. Location of this hostel couldn’t be better! You’re right in the middle of everything and a stone’s throw away from the Barrack st. jetty. My room could use some updates; it seemed old and musty, and almost prison like. Locker door was broken, carpet stained. No shelf near the bed. However, i heard that the bigger dorm rooms were up to standards. Communal areas were nice, but didn’t really use them. Kitchen didn’t really seem hygienic. Lots of people seemed to be using the Inn as a permanent place to stay. All the fridges in the kitchen were completely filled up. Wifi is ok, but not 100% reliable. Nextdoor is a good place for breakfast/lunch. Many fastfood options in the area.

The background was, I had to find an accommodation after attend a rock concert which would done almost midnight. I picked this place simply because it is in walk distance from Perth station, the central hub. I didn't expect much, since I will stay for just one night. Here is the story. I arrived early at 10, meet front desk guy (looks like David Beckham). Since bed would be ready at 2pm, I had to hanging around first, but they have a locker room to put my bag. When I came early they offer me to wait in outdorr terrace or basement which surprisingly large and comfort, with large kitchen and big cupboard for food. I was impressed with this one. Overall there are 4 storeys. About the room, I picked 6 bed dorm room, which is rather small but comfort bed. The bath room is, again, surprisingly clean and tidy. I don't know about other traveller, but I recommend this place for stay if you need to be nearby central area with transportation hub (train station), open air mall/plaza, art museum and library. The location is superb. Nearby are lots of cafes and restaurants (western, asian). Next to the Inn is a small nice coffee shop. That's all, folks..

Really loved the location which is close to everything I needed in my trip. Generally clean except the kitchen area at the basement which could get quite stuffy with a lot of cooking. Many guests do not clean up after use and often leave dirty crockery and cooking utensils lying around. The back door of the kitchen was not closed as instructed so had a pigeon visit a couple of times.

This hostel has good rooms, comfortable beds, good bathrooms and an excellent location. The WiFi was shoddy though, but all in all an ok place to have a base in Perth. Location is the best part of it, so close to CBD and the ferry that takes you out to Rottnest (Barrack Street). And CBD area has free WiFi so that solved that problem for me.

I stayed 2 nights in a single room. Bed comfortable and clean, pilliws good and fluffy towel a luxury. Unfortunately the bed light was broken and the door squeaked so bad I was afraid to go to the shared bathroom after 11 for fear if waking others. The worst was the remote for TV was not easy to locate. When I looked in the desk draw there were dirty food wrappers and used cutlery with dried food on it. In the overhead cupboards there were partially empty yoghurt containers. Obviously the cleaners did not check. When I found the remote it did not work. I reported all these to the desk the following night at 6pm as I had left before 7 In the morning and had just returned. They did not seem concerned and said he would try to remember to tell someone tomorrow. Not convinced he will remember. The bathroom was clean and bath mats fresh so I hope my room experience was a one off. I think I might stay again as location great.
