Oh dear - what has happened here - it appears the hotel hasn't been cleaned properly since my last stay in 2008 . Empty mini bar on arrival. Officious but unhelpful night reception from a young guy who acted like he owned the place - yet couldn't tell us anything useful. Charged our credit card $50 telling us that we... More

Crappy service and reception from front desk with extremely misleading information on their website. $100 bond required even when paying up front, was not advised of this via website. Rooms advertised as suitable for families also fell way short of basic expectations.

Myself, hubby and our 14yr old daughter stayed at Copthorne Hotel from the 17 - 20th of June 2015 and we had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was very close to our daughter's 5SOS concert. While she enjoyed her concert, we enjoyed our time dinning in at the hotel restaurant. We had a beautiful meal and we also... More

Hi there! My partner and I stayed at the copthorne for 2 nights over queens birthday weekend and we had a pleasant time. We were in a superior standard room with a queen bed (2 singles pushed together). The room was clean and tidy and the veranda was a nice touch but very small. Cant sit out and enjoy a coffee/drink.... I spent two nights in this hotel, and although it was somewhat basic, I found it pleasant enough, clean, with a good view and in a centrally located position. The worst part was trying to find my way back to it after I'd walked into the city, just a little tricky for someone who is not familiar with Auckland. Kept... More

On the whole, this is a good hotel, offering value for money. Its certainly better than the Harbour city Copthorne - cleaner and less tired. I was disappointed that the wifi wasn't free, which I wanted for work purposes. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for something inexpensive in the centre of Auckland.

Overall this is a terrible value. You might as well stay in a hostel. The hotel is falling apart. The shower was broken. The "queen" bed isn't actually a queen bed--it's just two full size beds shabbily stuck together. The walls are very thin and so it's pretty loud. The wifi is the absolute worst--it has a very low data... More

This was a old, tired hotel and ashamed to say that it is in Auckland. After arriving at the hotel we went to our room only to be welcomed by a very strong ‘toilet’ smell. We went straight to reception to report the smell and asked if we could move. We were told there were no other rooms available and... More

Very unimpressed from the first to the last moment, the staff were unhelpful, at check in there were no friendly smiles and no request was met with a helpful answer. I stayed at the end of a tour and it rather put a dampener on the last night. For dinner we were put in a musty smelling function room. We... More

More or less for the tour groups. Very small room, small shower with low water pressure. Beds are very old and " sinky " . Location was ok though. The best feature has got to be the buffet breakfast . Good variety for everyone. Overall, it was ok.
