Last moment booking, just arrived an hour later but that didn't matter. Lovely welcome, the staff explains what you can see and do/ where to eat and you listen while sipping your cup of coffee or glass of wine they offer you. The Penthouse was a great room with stunning view from the balcony. The breakfast was to die for......

We were looking for a BnB we could enjoy within our budget and the Ponsonby artHotel hit all the right buttons. Cozy, clean, comfortable, cute, colorful, conveniently located (near the Ponsonby bus stop), and with charming staff. We stayed in a garden room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were fresh and ample.

Our room was one of the garden bedrooms, which was pleasant and comfortable, but not luxury compared to other B&B we had stayed in NZ. If you like colours, then you won't be disappointed. Rooms have lots of colour! You would have to negotiate the rain for breakfast, but umbrellas supplied. Added to the quirkiness. The staff were really great...

So pretty on the outside oozes personality on the inside. Everywhere you turn there is unique art and accessories from the owners' travels. Owner Gerry was so helpful tailoring our Auckland experience to our interests - Thank you! Loved our room with its sweet front porch balcony! Walked up the street to hip Ponsonby for evening cocktails and great jazz...

We arrived in Auckland early morning following a long journey from Colorado. Transportation from the airport cost about NZD$85, and was efficient and friendly. A three night stay was booked on our behalf at the Great Ponsonby Arthotel with the 1st "night" actually starting with our early morning arrival. Highlights: Spacious, quiet, comfortable room; and dining staff. Satisfactory: Continental and...

First the positives. This B&B is in a great loction in the Ponsonby district of Auckland. The host, Gerry, is extremely hospitable and very helpful in planning things to see and do. The breakfast is absolutely scrumptious. The staff are all terrific. There are wonderful restaurants, shops, and a city bus stop nearby. That said, the facility itself is a...

When we first arrived, we wondered if we had made a mistake just from the outward appearance and location. Once inside and having met the very helpful staff we were thrilled with our choice. The room was comfortable with everything we needed provided. Our breakfast was great. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood with excellent nearby shopping and restaurants....

We stayed in the great Ponsonby for three nights. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and given tea & cake. Our room was spacious and provided us with everything we needed. Exceptionally clean. All the staff were very friendly and offered good advice on the local area and transport to the city. Breakfast time was filled with good conversation...

We stayed 2 nights in the Great Ponsonby Arthotel occupying the yellow room. This is a bit of an unconventional B&B, with outlying buildings and has quite a few rooms (I'd guess 8 or more). Our room was out of the main house, and in the same building as another room. It was relatively large and very well appointed with...

In mid February, we stayed at this bed and breakfast for two nights. I can without hesitation recommend that anyone looking for comfort and convenience book in here. The house is old, but has been furnished beautifully, in a home comfort kind of way. The staff, especially Holly, were incredibly good. Very happy to give advice on what to see...
