Clean and tidy with cotton sheets, continental breakfast great, hosts friendly and helpful. Few minutes walk to beach and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Enjoyed the New Zealand themed decor

We were only staying in Gisburn for one night and we certainly picked the right place to stay in. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My husband has mobility issues and this room catered perfectly for his needs. Recommend this motel very highly.

A very nice motel only minutes from the beach. Clean and well run by nice and helpful hosts. Hosts have made a conscious effort to make the property as energy efficient as possible. The rooms and ensuite are clean and well maintained. Free wifi, no A/C, but a very efficient ceiling fan. The negatives are that you really need your... More

We stayed at Ahi Kaa a few times now and it's just perfect for us. The accommodation is clean, nice bed, big bathroom with a walk-in shower and everything is there. With an eye for detail, the rooms are up to a high standard. The owners are friendly and the location is close to the waterfront.

Amongst the dozens of motel options in Gisborne, Ahi Kaa is the gem. Top location across from the beach and boardwalk, immaculate rooms, quality bed linen and thoughtful touches like Fair Trade coffee and tea. Hospitality is woven through the ethos of Ahi Kaa - I would absolutely stay again.

We stayed as a group of over 20 motorcyclists when doing a long weekend ride. This motel has been refurbished recently and is very clean and modern. The service and owners were very good. Highly recommended. Just a short walk to the beach & a little longer walk into town.

Very welcoming. Great room, very clean. So quiet, had a great sleep. Very good value, and a snuggly electric blanket to boot. The location was handy to the beach and the best fish and chips we've had in a long time (on the corner of the same street).

Booked online with no hassle. Arrived at Ahi Kaa early in the morning well before check in and the staff still got us into our rooms right away. We stayed for 4 nights. The rooms are modern and really clean, sky tv, fast wifi, accommodating and friendly staff. I highly recommended the Agi Kaa to stay when in Gisborne.

Came here for Easter and we were definitely impressed. Excellent location, 2 mins walking to beach. A very well set up establishment with lovely Maori arts decorations around the premise. The studio is roomy, perfect for a couple or a family with a small child. It is modern, tidy and clean. Bathroom is spotless also. A small fridge and utensils... More

Long trip over to Gisborne via Hastings through some lovely scenery, but we made good time, arriving early afternoon. Welcomed by Katie warmly and shown our room. We decide to have a look at Gisborne. We walked to the sea close to the hotel and then along the beach and into Gisborne. A modern town by New Zealand standards but... More
