Stayed one night en route to Wellington and South Island. Clean and comfortable with everything you expect from a motel. Walking distance to the centre of town. Only downside is that the bed was very soft.
Great location over looking beach on main road but don't worry it's quiet.
Rooms very spacious with all the amenities you need.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Just a short 10 minute walk into town where you will find the restaurants and bars.

Hi. not sure re bikes, but there is a bike hire shop a few hundred metres up the road. It's on marine parade, but I am unsure of its name.
Supermarkets, pak n save is the closest and less than 10 min walk.
