This little private hostel has two lovely owners, Mark and Irene, that await you cheerfully with their two small unruly dogs. But don't worry they only stay behind reception. The price was good (I booked with nakedsleep) and the nakedbus even drops you off in front of the door. Don't make the mistake to get dropped off at the main... More

Stayed here for about 4 days and had a great experience. Mrs Irene is an amazing host and will help you out with anything she can. The beds were comfortable, room was clean, people here were friendly and had a genuinely inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is stocked and never got too terribly crowded. Made some good friends and had a... More

Stayed here for a week on a football tournament and the service and staff are great. Would definitely stay here again. No complaints or problems about this place at all. The kitchen and lounge area are superb

We stayed for 2 nights after reading TA reviews. We didn't use the communcal areas. just as somewhere to rest our head. Positives: Good location near old port/quay. 30 minute walk to Napier CBD. Friendly hosts. Large outdoor area for BBQs. Negatives: Quite noisy. Shared bathrooms not very well mataintained. Car park only for campervans, although not full during our... More

We are disappointed that your stay was not totally satisfactory, as you say in the review, it was a very busy weekend with lots of people coming and going.Unfortunately, only one towel was put in the room, but all you needed to do was ask and we would have gladly provided more towels. More

Nothing is too much trouble and Irene really makes you feel at home. Loads to do in the area and loads to do in the backpackers too. Slept like a log. It great to be able to cook in a big space and everything needed is available. Go to the Opossum shop and see the singing possums when you visit.... More

Booked in on line. Haven't done much back packing for a while and was concerned we would be in the age of being the oldest here. No need for concern. A huge age range with freedom campers, tourists and backpackers all melded together. A great facility with a large social area inside and outside with a very large blow up... More
